Both questions are related, so i'll answer them together. Getting a pass isn't difficult. Good grades is definitely another issue. Singapore degree are the best, don't you know even Americans also want to studying NUS?
Anyway, which ever Uni doesn't really matter. What is most important is still what lies ahead after graduating.
Will you be competent in your work? Can you show confidence in yourself? Everything still depends on character.

Beijing Uni also best.. even American want to go and Singapore have overseas scholars there. Maybe cheaper than NUS even!

fees is as high if not higher than public American Uni.
With O levels, U can easily get into pretty good Uni in USA like Purdue.
Don't have to do foundation even.
Unless your goals is getting OZ PR.. don't see the pt heading that way..

I see an undeserved respect for aussie degrees in this thread. In the first place, aussie degrees are absurdly easy to obtain. my dad regularly interviews grads for jobs and he finds that even people clearly lacking in intellectual capacity manage to obtain first classes. Also note that many of the universities in australia are in fact polys; they merely changed their names some years back but they remain sucky. there are a few unis that are recognised in sg, i think you can find the list on the ministry of manpower website. if you fail to get into any of these universities, don't bother going degree or no degree. you would simply be wasting you time and money.
many employers view an aussie education as a soft option (i'm not giving any real evidence here but you can go ask around for yourself) and it will do you little good to have a degree from australia. furthermore, any work experience you obtain there will be worthless in singapore. it is well known how laid back they are and having worked there certainly doesnt count as an asset.
i haven't offered any alternatives because i cant think of one. perhaps the best you can do for yourself is to overcome your current disadvantage with good performance later. a degree only gets you in the door most times. -
actually if i can, i'd be quite interested to go china to study.

You're not buying a degree. You pay 25K for a 2 yr course takin' your bachelors; in a pretty laid back system in a fast-paced environment. It's tough; more so if you're chinese speaking. (but i guess you'll somehow grasp the essence of the English language more or less; learn abt the (aussie, uk, o/seas) culture, enhance your tertiary education & personal experiences.
Enjoy the sights & sounds, full of activities you can do there; not forgetting the babes. Enjoy the exposure; and nudists exposing

many times HR aunty cannot filter those out.. -

The killing factor for a lot of ppl is MONEY!!!! Borrow from bank is akin to borrow from legalised loan shark. Well to each his/her own. When come back it is time to clear the debt then we see how.
