What course are you interested in? it depends actually. but for Poly students, with the exception of Uni Mel, the others in Australia , as long as 75% of your grades are B and above, u shld be able to gain entry into the more reputable state Unis (i am generalising this to commerce an engineering courses)Originally posted by mitgalant:Hi guys, juz wanna check out somethin regardin abt oversea degree.
Hopefully i can get the ans i want. Thanks alot
Anyway, i am currently studyin in a poly and my GPA is ard 2.2
Both questions are related, so i'll answer them together. Getting a pass isn't difficult. Good grades is definitely another issue. Ignore the comment on your English proficiency, as some of other others have pointed out in Aussie, u'll have people from HK, Jap, etc. If they can cope, there's no excuse for you not too. so do not worry abt that.Originally posted by mitgalant:Juz wanna check if should i purse a degree in Australia,
(1) Is it very difficult to get a degree there ? never mind about a first or second class honours.
(2) I am juz a normal student and i learn things quite slow, am i able to catch up there?
My advice is this, try to get into state Unis or the group of 8. If you need more info abt wad courses are good in which Unis, PM me. i'll gladly tell you more.Originally posted by mitgalant:(3) Is it a sure pass degree ? Sort of like somethin call use $ to buy cert thing ?
Thanks alot. Appreciated ur time and ans. Thanks alot
you definitely speak like an amateur. 'nuff said. -> referring to previous quotes of yours.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:It's not a 2-year course by the way. It will only be 2 years if they grant you advanced standings.
u sound cocky dudeOriginally posted by trendz:first of all; i doubt your proficiency in english would really impress me.
If you're unable to speak perfect english; or inadvertently pepper your sentences with Singlish cause of a dreadful 'habit' which seeped through and entrenced in your articulation; unable to switch seamlessly, then i guess you had better stay in Singapore to soak in the 'Singaporean atmosphere LAH'.
Only the dumb f*cks would waste 3 yrs of their lives studying for a f*cked up diploma; (and f*ckin' dorks spending 2 yrs in JC [& failed their A levels]) ie to say a course which either they're not interested in, not cut out for it or simply the job field isn't wide at all.
Many poly idiots get a sole dip but are not within the top 5%; thus no direct entry to Sg unis.
anyway, the top 0.2% would be able to enter SMU. so treat NUS or NTU as a consolation.
Moreoever staying in Singapore & sticking by their f*cked up education system all your life; havin' no o/seas exposure at all would really sorta disgust me in; one way or another.
You're not buying a degree. You pay 25K for a 2 yr course takin' your bachelors; in a pretty laid back system in a fast-paced environment. It's tough; more so if you're chinese speaking. (but i guess you'll somehow grasp the essence of the English language more or less; learn abt the (aussie, uk, o/seas) culture, enhance your tertiary education & personal experiences.
Enjoy the sights & sounds, full of activities you can do there; not forgetting the babes. Enjoy the exposure; and nudists exposing![]()
The killing factor for a lot of ppl is MONEY!!!! Borrow from bank is akin to borrow from legalised loan shark. You do feel and enjoy different environment but once studies ended and you come back to Spore you are faced with a HUGE debt to clear unless you run road dun come back hahahhaa....Originally posted by valentinoo:if u have money...go overseas.....study...learn to be in different environment.

But 99.9% of the things in life requires moneyOriginally posted by r3plica:the compounding interest is indeed scary...
that is why it is important to plan one's finance before taking this leap...
but there are times we have to look beyond monetary terms...
there are things in life that you can't get with money...
just my 2 cents worth...
fair enough though.Originally posted by Chelzea:u sound cocky dude![]()
