Hmm, AJC is just one sch... and ppl start to generalise about the wjole JC cohort ... zzz ...
Anyway, i think it is fishy thattt clock costs 1.8k ... It is every in my school, as i said... maybe someone shld write to the press ... ANd, ppl was forced to pay, it just makes the issue worse .... what happen to the money really?

it's a conspiracy..
the clock is so expensive because it can detect what the hall is being used for.
if the hall is used for assembly and the principal kept talking, the clock will move very face like say.. 1 minute advances in every 30 seconds.
if the hall is used for exams, the time will be like 1 minute advance every 2 minutes.
this hi-tech piece of equipment.... i would say is cheap actually for $1800. -

By the way... I was just wondering something... Those cheapo types of digital clocks that a lot of you are talking about.... It works well in your bedrooms... It works well in your classrooms... But if you place it so high up in the hall, will you still be able to see the time clearly? It's not about how big the clock is.... it's about clarity... so in order for everyone in the hall to be able to see the time, the display must be really good... im sure you all know how big a school hall is...

i think i cost that much because it's hung very high up, so it has to be very accurate (so you don't have to adjust often), very bright (red leds which runs so bright arnt cheap) and also because the battery must be really solid to run so long, or it could even be running off the wall socket.
anyway, to those who use this chance to attack JC, i think you should learn to accept the fact that you are just a JC-reject. Bitch. -

From NYJC here. The SMC paid 4 digital clocks that cost about $6000 in total: 2 in hall and 2 in their bigger lecture theatre.
Features? Alarm to tell you the time, countdown in hours, minutes and seconds, among others.
Clock accurate? You can adjust it by using a remote control! -
See people? There are really such expensive digital clocks... and they are expensive because of its functions and most impotantly, its clarity.... It was to make sure that everyone in the hall could see the time clearly, especially during exams... The school did not use the money to buy a gold plated clock did it? So do u guys realise that you just kicked a big fuss out of nothing?
