Strange Drawings in the Desert Floor

Most of you have heard of the Nazca Lines, they're over 300 drawings of strange symbols and shapes on the desert surface in Peru, works of art believed to have been done by the ancient peoples thousands of years ago. Just now I was looking at the Nazca Plain and these are a few of the interesting pictures I captured.
Strange Lines, stretching many kilometers long:

The Nazca Plain remains ever popular with sightseers and tourists alike, because of the many mysterious shapes carved into its surface. Here you see a screenshot of a small plane taken by me
Such trips are not uncommon, and although many of the carvings have faded away over thousands of years, many still remain that are a popular tourist attraction.

A new giant picture on the Nazca Plateau in Peru, which is famous for giant patterns that can be seen from the air, has been discovered by a team of Japanese researchers.
The image is 65 meters long, and appears to be an animal with horns. It is thought to have been drawn as a symbol of hopes for good crops, but there are no similar patterns elsewhere, and the type of the animal remains unclear.

abit off topic but this is v funny.....
It looks like thrips, a very small (1mm or so) insect. The size might explain how it got involved in the printing process. The brown glob at the posterior end is bug crap , forced out of the poor critter as it got squished between a glass plate and the film during the scanning process. -

how to play with google earth har?? any expert here??? how to refresh it.. or is it auto.. why i always seeing blur pic only... then when i change the angle of view... why it wont refresh one.. as in.. a tall building can be looking flat after i change the angle... how? help?

it would be near impossible to carve such things in the surface without seeing it from the air because each carving is kilometers wide and all have perfect symmetry, so that means the ancient peoples had access to flight or something else...like assistance from an alien civilisation.Originally posted by JackOT:Nice pic.
