SIA Girl's standards dropping?

SIA's best trainee can't speak well. More training needed to upkeep airline's image
I attended a graduation ceremony recently for SIA cabin crew and I was disappointed at the level of language competency of the "Best Trainee" when she gave her speech to a diverse audience, which included visitors from abroad.
I cannot be more embarrassed and was saddened that she was unable to recite the SIA Pledge. She struggled to recall the words on stage until fellow crew members came to her rescue.
As a Singaporean, I take pride in having SIA as our national carrier, which is internationally recognised after winning many awards, one of which is the 'World's Best Cabin Service'.
I have been told of the rigorous selection process in recruiting the cabin crew and I believe they go through stringent tests in the four months' training provided by the company.
However, the incident appalled me and I wonder if that is the standard of commitment and proficiency that we should showcase to the world.
The Singapore Girl has an image to uphold. I hope that this incident will not happen again.
I urge the management to take action so as not to tarnish the company's reputation. Perhaps a course on personal confidence and speech competency can be included in the training.
If this is already part of the training, I hope that SIA will put more emphasis in this area. The ability to speak and react calmly will help in the delivery of service.
The Singapore Girl after all is a world class icon that we are proud to have.

I was wondering....what kind of English was she using? Singlish? Lah, Mah, Ah, Bah, Aiyah etc?

It's the older ones from earlier batches that are working as trainers now that look hot.
But is it me or it's really easy to spot a SIA girl....there is something about the way they talk and act?
For example, we went to a X'mas party last year and this guy came in with his gf and when she opened her mouth I told my hubby she must be a SIA girl and he said yeah he thinks so too.
Turns out that she really is a SIA girl. -
For some reason, most SIA girls give the impression of being SPG.

SIA has their own way of selecting gals.... Nowadays they want more substance rather than looks. Usually pleasant looking is the case. But it's how the gals carry themselves and present themselves counts. They don't have to be pretty but they must have that x factor SIA is looking for..
Otherwise they won't upgrade the criteria from O levels to Diploma. -
my fren gt offer for 5 yr contract with sia.. she looks normal, acts normal.. nothing to boast of.

The SIA Girls are just doing their job.
lets give them a break.
The SIA Girls standard are still the same. It is the international beauty standards that goes up. Everyday new technology and beauty product is being introduced that can transform almost anyone beautiful.
Too bad that they could not keep up as everyone expect them to. But this does not apply to all the SIA Girls. Some have really high standards.

sad.. this kind of jobs also China ppl do.. imagine 10 years down the road, 95% of the jobs are China ppl doing it -

On my recent flight to Los Angeles, me just asked for a cup of water, the stewardess brought a cup of champagne, so me politely said she brought me the wrong beverage, the stewardess replied that "you didn't want champagne arh, just water only hor?"...
Wah lao erh! The english competency sucks to rock bottom!
The outlook and overall presentation of Singapore Girls are totally crap now... Even ugly and smoked teeth can be a Singapore Girl, not to mention bad breathe due to smoking of tobacca... -

i know alot of expats travelling in Raffles/First class try to hitch them lor.
Some of them succeed.
My downstairs neighbour (expat of middle eastern origin) last time would bring back SIA girls, and the girls changes every few months....
