Can I sue someone who failed to obey an verbal agreement?

Anyone studies law here?
Someone had verbally(sms) agreed to deal on something and now he backed out. Am I eligible to make him to compensate me?

Yes you will be able to, provided you can make out a contractual agreement. Unless it's of any real value (and by real I don't mean a positive figure above 0), don't bother because the legal costs in enforcing your claim would be too high.

there must be evidence in this case, means the sms
while in real life, there must be 1st party to witness the agreement being passed -
must have some form of evidence, best is the witness of multiple third persons.
sms is not reliable.
emails are more reliable.
im not a lawyer, but i get alot of verbal agreements so i just take note of whatever bits of legal information i find. -
