meaning to say that the testicles are not there or not functioning? If so what i say does not applies and this is really complicatedOriginally posted by JennTS:Well, I've got a friend who's XXY, and she's got an umm, penis, but yet she produces female hormones like any other female. The only problem is that once she cuts it off, the estrogen supply is cut off, and she's going to need to get her estrogen from either pills or injections.
By the way, hermapodites are people who are born with sexual organs which are 'in-between'. I think doctors will then try to 'guess' their gender, and alter the genitals to make it look like that gender. Most of the time, they base their judgement according to which sex the genitals look more like. Unfortunately, they tend to guess wrongly half the time.
Wah Liew... must I type every word out? If a couple have an unexpected pregnancy, guys are less willing to abort the child than women.Originally posted by An0nym0us:I didn't know guys could go through abortion...![]()
cuz women are the one to face the repercussion.Originally posted by kaister:Wah Liew... must I type every word out? If a couple have an unexpected pregnancy, guys are less willing to abort the child than women.
Understand?
Yes I agree this is weird. Normally estrogen production comes from the ovaries, corpus luteum or the placenta. Cutting off p-nis should have no effect ba?Originally posted by Honeybunz:This is so strange. Cut off the p-nis, and the estrogen supply is also cut.

Cutting off p-nis should have no effect ba?Not the stick, the testicles, in which case the person must be AIS(Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome) which means that s/he has partially or fully defective testosterone receptors. The testosterone produced by the testes therefore does not have an effect on the body but it is aromatized to estrogen in fat cells via the enzyme aromatase. Couple that with the estrogens produced by the adrenal glands, they get their dose of estrogens.
Sorry lah, I never go to skool before thats why I dunno how to read, don't be angry k?Originally posted by kaister:An0nym0us, you want me to commit murder is it??![]()

Pls learn to read. I was talking about XXY.
Well, actually guys do produce a small amount of estrogen, and gals do produce a small amount of testosterone, even though guys don't have ovaries, nor do girls have testis. I have a feeling that the sex organs are capable of producing both, but it just so happens that in my friends case it went crazy and started producing more estrogen then it really should.Originally posted by Honeybunz:This is so strange. Just another question which sparked my interest after reading through the replies.
Is the main factor that keeps you all from marrying a transsexual, more over because she can't give birth, or because you're still can't accept it that she was once a guy.

I suppose... Even I tend to avoid drinking newater in most instances.Originally posted by Aveme:can't accept that she was once a guy.
It is comparable to maybe newater, even if newater is really clean, but if you are told it is newater that came from very unclean stuff,a normal person will feel cringy right?
Hmm, guess this might explain it then. I never really bothered to read up too much about it so, I'm not really too sure.Originally posted by An0nym0us:Not the stick, the testicles, in which case the person must be AIS(Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome) which means that s/he has partially or fully defective testosterone receptors. Haha don't worry, I've done the reading for you. I'm no endocrinologist but I can try...Originally posted by JennTS:Hmm, guess this might explain it then. I never really bothered to read up too much about it so, I'm not really too sure.
I do know that testosterone injections caused her to get sick though. Lucky girl.![]()

Well, you failed to explain how come they produce estrogen on their own. Anyway, it so happens that she's transsexual as well, so it all works out for her.Originally posted by kaister:Haha don't worry, I've done the reading for you. I'm no endocrinologist but I can try...
Klinefelters are essentially males with underdeveloped male organs. With removal of her testis, she cannot produce testosterone and would need regular testosterone injection (every 2-3 weeks).
Since she don't have any female sexual organs, then she won't need oestrogen ba? It has nothing to do with androgen insensitivity syndrome btw...
I hope all the best for your friend![]()

Her basal oestrogen levels might have been maintained by adipocytes (fat cells) or bone marrow. Since she does not have any endometrium or other female organs to maintain, oestrogen levels not really of a concern ba? Just guessing here...Originally posted by JennTS:Well, you failed to explain how come they produce estrogen on their own. She's actually doing quite well now. Even though at 172cm which is quite tall for a girl, she is very pretty and passable, plus her voice never broke either. Even one doctor who sees over a dozen transsexuals everyday honestly thought she was a real female. She also works as the spokeperson for her company, her parents are quite accepting of her, and she has a boyfriend who cares for her too. But thanks anyway, I'll pass your message on to her.
I guess it's due to the upbringing, culture, and belives of that person. Generally the younger generation is more accepting of transgendered people as compared to the old; western societies too, are more accepting as compared to Asian societies.Originally posted by StarPuppy:whats wrong with the society looking down on trans?
damn those idiots...trans are humans..they also have equal rights and pride as any others![]()
