ccb, i thought of telling him to offer me 10 times what i asked and i will start work immediately.
to make things worst he told me i was perfect for the job. in the end he did not even bother to call me!!

what makes you think i haven't done it before? i can boldly tell you that there are more people than you think whom have experienced all these. don't keep yourself secluded from the world. it's time to step out and look at what others are going through and experiencing. even reading the newspaper helps LOL

Unless the company paying you good money and the work really challenging can learn a lot and of recognition or both if not who want to work in a place where you travel 4 hours daily? sleep 8 hrs, work 8 hrs (provided no OT), travel 4 hours equals 20 hours...left 4 hours every day not even eenough for FireIce to f uck her husband
some do it but if not tied down by 'circumstances' they pull out a couple of years after getting the experience to get a better pay job. some stay due to the good pay if not no prospect or stuff to learn nevermind family bobian. as for those travelling overseas job unless the pay real good with reasonable makeup pay for your travelling if not junior stuff who want to travel overseas? to gain the experience? only u get to see different ppl only if not what u learn? u think like going tour overseas ar so proud....long waiting time travelling so tired cannot even hav time to take one proper photo go there may hav to stay OT hours irregular sometime come back also achieve nothing i see my bosses like that only travel for show what biangz the only thing is u can tell the world//'see i travel leh very smart'

yes agreed to some extend. of course one has to weigh the salary and price to pay for when choosing a job that requires a longer traveling time...but not to the extend that it is totally unacceptable.
personA: offered 8k/mth to travel 4 hours per day to and fro work
personB: offered 1.8k/mth to travel 4 hours per day to and fro work
it's not surprising to see personA rejecting the job just because he finds traveling time too long (and yeah...he better make sure that he has other good job offers from a nearer location).
i just find it stupid for people who are jobless/can't get jobs but still complain that traveling time is too long, especially in Singapore when the most you can get is about 4 hours.

know why suzhou industrial park was constructed? all facilities inside the area...some includes hostels for the employees there...notice i use 'employees' instead of workers har...respect okay respect. other countries some do the same also. also ppl travelling to another city or state to work usually bunk up with otherrs in hostels or rented appartments...so only during holidays, thanks giving, x-mas and new year they go home. of course there are also ppl who really travel 4 b loo dy hours a day to work....it all depends on the circumstances...and if u want to break away from the situation when u have a chance or opportunity to. seriously in some jobs in sg hav to travel that long...worse some hav to travel to offshore island sian man.Originally posted by dragg:why argue about such a thing?

Singapore is small, but our dear public buses travel around the island before reaching the destination.
Just like in my case, driving to Woodland only take me 20 min, but 90 min by bus. Going to work by car is 15 min, but 60 min by bus. It's only a 12 km distance.
It's So Near, Yet So FAR ! !
Experiences is important, but attitude towards learning is more important ! !

MRT stops at desinated stations so the area of coverage is not that wide. buses - they come to u
taxis - they come to u even better, but at a higher price
own transport? - if u can afford it then use it and don't grumble
experiences are crucial, but learning the right things and not wasting time learning the wrong things should be in the working mindset.
my advices to people who can be out of a job for a while is be patient and continue seeking. a longer wait and pain now is better than when yr un related and inexperience results in the inability to secure a job later
