Some advices regarding Waiter

Its my first time being a waiter in pizza hut.
I'll need a bit of advice, Today i'll be undergoing the third training.
So far i've learnt the menu(At least 90%), And i learnt some order taking skills, as well as how to use the computer.
My problem here is, As u can see i have quite a bit of nervousness whenever I tried order taking (Which was tried as a role play to the manager at first).
I often stumbled, at loss of words when the Customer asks too many things.
What i need help here is, Could any experienced waiters here tell me how could i cope with the nervousness or with fussy customers ? -
remember,give more good service to angmoh than locals

Reply every request with a smile even if cannot
and no need nervous la
sometimes i encounter customers who are more nervous than me

If you dunno anithing, just tell the truth, but add on wait for a moment, i find out from my colleagues and get back to u
If they say hw come u everything dunno, jus say u new here and still learning lor
wun eat u out dun worry, wun hit u either -
jus need more time and practice to get used to it, and increase ur self confidence...

but i tink 80% of the ang mo are generally very nice lor

so interesting one -
learn from mistakes.. learn hard.. quite a fun job. It takes time to learn everything.. give yrself three months.. can be very good waiter.
Ang mo are more courteous according to my experiences. -

but most expats who have stay here long enough will not be as generous as the tourists...
went out with my angmoh friends and they are very particular about what they spend on. -

I work in jurong point pizza hut, Because that place is "Enhanced dining" . Then everything machiam must damn perfect. I still got opening speech and ending speech.
"Good afternoon sir, Im your order taker for today, My name is ***, How may i assist you?"
Then ending speech even more zai.
"Your pizza would be baked specially to your order"
"It would be served in around 15-20 minutes"
"Im sure you'll have an enjoyable dining experience with us"
"In the meantime , Shall i serve you your soups and drinks first?
"Thank you"
The moment i think of so many lines to remember =\.
The thing is, if your new here it doesn't matter if you make mistakes meh =\ -

Just smile, be polite and 'appear' understanding.
Last time had a sibei fussy indian customer couple. Boss couldnt handle and send me. Not bad leh, they even give tip -
dun worry lah, just relax and smile if you forget your line or cannot understand. Just say "I am sorry, let me go find out for you."
Ppl won't make things difficult for you one lah, its only Pizza Hut not Les Amis what. Its supposed to be easy and relaxing.
Some more, nowadays, waiters not easy to employ hor, so unless you are outrightly rude or pour soup over customers' heads, you'll be fine. -

The most important thing is to take the right order in the end and understand which course should come first.
I remember once going to Pizza Hut in JP many years ago and I ordered a garlic bread and a pizza. The point of me ordering the garlic bread was to let me have something to munch on before the main (I was very hungry at that time) but guess what... in the end my garlic bread and pizza arrived at the same time which really defeated the whole purpose of having an appetitiser!!
So it's important to remember the courses which one to come first unless the customers advise you otherwise. Entree/appertiser comes first then main course then dessert & coffee.

if they ask me what's inside the pizza or whateva stuff.. i'd point at the menu... den read out everything...
den if any chinese or indian order super supreme... or other pizzas with beef, pls inform them that the pizza contains beef. tho it might seem troublesome... a few customers changed their order after i informed them.. cos hor.. they can't take beef.
den got some customers... they're vegetarians... or when they order veggie lover only.. inform them there's onion inside.. chinese vegetarians cannot take onion.. some indian vegetarians cannot take onion oso..
and hor when u key ur order, pls state customer's a vegetarian.. so they will take extra care not to touch any meat...
anything not sure just say i'm not very sure, pls wait while i check with a colleague. best is to pull ur colleague over... den if u wan, u can explain to the customer saying u're new.
everytime see an empty plate, clear. see empty glass, fill it (plain water only lar)
and if u see customers feeding babies porridge.. with the restaurant utensils, pls tell the customer to pass u the utensils.. so u can dispose of it accordingly.
in case its not halal. what we did last time.. when customer use the spoon or bowl to feed porridge, we throw the entire thing into rubbish bin
and always suggest some stuff to go with the meal... except when they're ordering a lot lot lot... den dun.
if they ordered soup, ask them if they wan puff pastry to go along or sth...
erm dunno if they still have that.. cos i last worked there in 2002 -

sometimes the garlic bread gets served after the pizza
the person doin that.. is in charge of everything that isn pizza, drinks and dessert.. very cham.. everytime i'm in charge of that.. i dun have strength left at the end of th eday

sianz i miss some of my frenz from JP pizza hut -
when the customer too demanding just tell them off,
nin bu eh chao chee bai! come here eat or make trouble one? -
i can never be a waiter.

Always remember.
It is hard to distinguish melted cheese and yellow phlegm.
Especially if the pizza is piping hot. -
