2)be alert
3)if carrying handbag, dun put lots of money inside it (one of my wicked plan is to install a bomb, if the thief snatches the bag, just take out a remote and activate the bomb, you'll know what'll happen next)
4)men, plz put your wallet in your side pocket and not your back
5)be cautious and check if anyhing is missing is someone bumped into you(dun care what sex they are)
6)Take bus if possible
7)dun follow or help anybody who asked you for help
avoid 'hotspots'
9) dress like the locals(best if you take bus)
10)dun show off -
its almost everyday that we hear daylight robbery and crimes happening in the broad daylight in JB..
best advice would be:
visit there during night.

Yeah why not. I think u'd be generally off the "red zone" as long as u dun flaunt ur riches / appear ya-ya... and apply some common sense in situations.. eg. walking alone on a quiet street @ night / prominently displaying ur material riches makes u an instant target anywhere in the world.

My Malaysian friends who stay in KL told me that people get blatantly robbed during the day. Dunno real or not.

Be careful in crowded KTM/Light Rails as the chances of pickpocket is very high. You dowan get rob then you pretend to be a beggar along the streets or dress like 1 walking around

Malaysia is f***ing big. If you choose to go areas that are more dangerous, you kenna don't complain.
If you want to drive your mercs and BMs in, kenna don't complain.
There are means and ways to blend in, don't be so stupid. Thousands of Singaporeans go to and fro to M'sia with no incidents. Why be so scared?
CB, if so scared then stay at home in your kampong. Don't come out.. Take MRT later got terrorist threat also. M'sia is no where more dangerous than the cosmopolitan cities of London and New York. -
erm so far my dear came to JB quite often but quite okie leh...
of cos singapore is a cleaner country, and relatively safer compared to msia, but msia oso not so bad la...not like everywhere u go will get robbed think ppl who said that are only making a mountain out a molehill...because of some robbery cases in msia then said until like robberies are happening everywhere...but which country doesnt have robbery cases?

Making it sound Malaysia is not safe.
Not long ago got this Malaysian stewardess, after the flight check into Singapore hotel, then kena raped. Malaysian papers also print damn big.

Try not to stick out like a sore thumb lah. Avoid dodgy places. If you go to NY, don't end up in the Bronx, in London, parts of the east end. Same principle applies everywhere you go. Try to act like local, so difficult meh, same all chinese what.

i always ride my bike in alone at 1 or 2 am , Once a week , PUmp petrol + ciggis + maybe get a quick bite of ramly burger .
Maybe once a month someone would join me . , MoST OF E time im a lone rider in jb. -
So far no problem , Only twice got challeged by some mat rempit , looking to have a race with me but i just smile at them , and continue going my way.

off topic but according to latest polls, new york is the safest city in america (in terms of robbery, theft. not in the aspect of terrorism) -

dress simply. no expensive clothes, and for girls, dont wear too little. dont carry your wallet/ handbag/ handphone in your bag or swing it up and down. no jewellery. dont talk loud loud..
and avoid the places singaporeans always love to go..
