how high is the barrier gonna be ? Waist level / chest level? cos if its waist level, ppl can still climb over and jump. But if chest level, can you imagine, it will block off the wind, next time your wait on the platform will be a sweaty process especially when trains only come like 5 - 8 min interval....
actually if ppl want to jump, whatever you put oso ppl will find ways and means of circumventing...when there is a will there is way.
I think a better way is to nip the problem at the bud, why are ppl jumping? Bcos they are hard up in life...so, don't create so much poor, desperate ppl...now with GST increasing and other aspects of costs increasing, think more ppl will jump.
next time whent the pinnacle is up, ppl will go jump from 50-storey HDB.... -

that person wait for a train to come, barrier open. he/she hide in between the barrier and the train. so when next train come, can jump also what
want to increase mrt fares just say so lah -
alot of HDB suicides all covered up, like few months back my frd come back from work this girl just jumped from hdb flat, must have landed on her head, as the head was completely crushed, flat like pancake.
police just arrived but cld not prevent ppl from seeing the corpse -

If you put barriers there, you won't be able to appreciate the sights anymore. -

MP Cynthia Phua obviously thinks the only way for people who want to die is to jump in front of an MRT train.
