My principal last time hated NPCC and NCC coz she thinks its crude for people to shout shout. Then she promoted choir like mad. And un-sissified it by making it prestigious. I think she pumped a lot of attention and perhaps money to turn the choir into a really huge ECA. Then a lot of boys started joining. And they didn't mind the atrocious make up and lip-stick and sissy clothes.

my school a lot teachers leave also because of that principal, and those who leave are those very very good teachers. nowadays keep coming in young teachers, see how my former school survive man

YOu need to start a petition and get the entire school to rally behind you.
CCA is meant for the pursuit of learning new skills. Not a vehicle for schools to earn more trophies. -

my school used to be an arts-inclined school due to the previous principal we had. she's now the principal of the new singapore arts school. change principal to this guy, he's aiming for value-added award or something like that lah. den never support art in our school anymore lor.
kinda upsetting lah. but still have to live with it what. can't do anything about it.
anyway, i'm an art student. so im quite affected by the change of principal while my other schoolmates arent. -

1 year wear tie 1 time nia.. for 10 min.. cos of photo taking
1 year sing sch songs 4 times nia... before assembly start
can have many ear studs...
during assembly the principal will share some stories/newspaper clippings with us..
but he retire... den sec 2 change to tan peanut

my school also recently change principal liao, but not as bad as yours, but what I know is that most of the CCA budget all kanna cut, which is a good thing.
because previous principal used to focus on performing arts, so they usually got more $$ over the clubs and uniform groups. so change liao means we are all equal
but i missed the previous principal because she always read newspapers and tell us the headlines etc. used to think its so naggy, but come to think of it, now so sian, we dun know any big news for the day.

Well, at least, it is better than those Principals ... who talk alot, but never deliver ....
Oh, We will let students design the school uniform, and the best design (the principal's design) will be the school uniform. The same goes for PE shit, and school logo.
We went through a rigourous (i guess it was very tedious to get ppl to set up the stall here) process of selecting cateen vendors. A wide variety of delicious food (i guess, she was the only one who found it to be delicious) will be a feature of the canteen.
The school campus will be completed in April (ppl use from 2006, 2007 then completely operational). But this one, can't blame the school. -
Well, my opinion is NEW principals ARE like that. Why? THEY'RE new, so, they want to have a good start and want their schools to get good reputation. SO THAT THEY WILL GET A GOOD REPUTATION. I don't think they really care about us students. they just torture us.
My school is under the same scenario. for 40 years, we had 30 over CCAs. then, some 40 y.o. single woman, coming for the first time as a principal comes in and starts closing down CCAs. MY CCA, a very important one, was closed down.
Within a year, there's only 20 CCAs left in my school. Also she broke some very old traditions. My school has this tradition of celebrating national day in a stadium, which we all enjoy. Since last year, she broke it! Now, she still has intentions to close down more CCAs.
Well, hate to break it but this is life in the 2000s -

My principal loves uniform grp. and he was previously from BB. So all uniform grps r very good. always win awards and all that. Other ccas r like closing one after another.
