not trying to be racist here but is it true that the malay population of the above 2 mentioned school is 0%?

they do accept students from other races....
very special cases
and they must take CL1
i've seen indians from these schools before
speak perfect chinese.......
malay no hear of though..........maybe have but i dont know........ -

They got no official policy.
just that their only Mother Tongue offered is Chinese.
When i was in Nanyang, there is one other Indian girl.
She was in the papers because she spoke chinese and spoke of her experience where 2 chinese were bad mouthing her in chinese...
she gave them a good one. -
last time when i was staying in little india, i was going home and got in the lift with 2 indian ladies
i asked them wat floor?
one of them said in chinese, qi lou.........
and thru-out the lift ride, both chatting in bery good chinese........in fact, better than mine sia........ -
If you have noticed quite a lots of Malays send their children to madrdshah school instead.

never had first hand experience.
But my Malay friends in the army said that their malay friends who went Madrashah wasn't even asked to enlist. -
Sensitive issue lor. Malays in NS is sensitive cuz of our neighbour. They say who knows there might be spy from our neighbour. So very little malay in NS especially those areas that got SECRET. And if u do c some Malay in SAF , i heard , its just for show. During my last year @ Nanyang, I remember there was an ang moh girl in lower secondary.... she took higher chinese as a subject and was apparently very adept at the language. When she first came in, she had no airs.. but later on I guess everyone wanted to be her friend and.. yooou know what I'm getting at.
No Indians & no malays while I was there. I have to admit it was a 99.8% chinese/banana elite school. (Ms Caucasian being the 0.2%)
I remember my classmates and I *did* bring up this topic during class to our form teacher. Up till that point, according to her, there had been no Malay or Indian girls in the school. So we asked what if? Would she then be required to take mother tongue as well, like Ms Caucasian? She stumbled over some awkward replies before finally saying "Ayah, I don't think it'll happen lah. Not anytime soon anyway. When the times comes they'll work something out."
Now that I think back about it, her answer doesn't seem very politically correct at all, ahahhaa

But the thing is, these schools started out as chinese schools back then. Perhaps, it was due to this origins, that parents from other races do not want to send them there?

have malays and eurasians, but very few, say two or three in a cohort. the president of the student council 2006 is a eurasian, proves that although they are chinese schools, they dont discriminate against other races. hci also has a few non chinese students who appeared in a scholarship book, one even wearing a turban

what i heard is that in the history of the above 2 mention school (for hwa chong institution's case, it's Chinese High) there are not a single Malay students.
