I don't give a sh1t about their copyright laws. Just think, if it's illegal to compile songs on to mp3 players, then what's the use of all the big companies making mp3 players and keep on getting consumers to purchase it. The only thing they have achieved with these copyright laws is they have successfully tried to instill a sense of fear, paranoia and confusion among users.
I've downloaded so many mp3s from ordinary internet websites and nothing happens to me, I never use P2P file-sharing networks at all. I burn most of my songs onto CDs, CD-Rs too. They don't know what you do with the songs you download anyway, provided you use those popular p2p file-sharing networks which are more obvious in nature.
Copyright laws are applicable to music on the Internet. If you download, upload, copy on a server, save on your drive, burn on a CDR, compile on your MP3 player, or distribute any music file without the consent of the copyright owner, you are guilty of copyright infringement. Aside from the illegal nature of these activities, many do not realise that these actions will destroy the very music that they love.
illegal copies
The law in Singapore provides that the making, importation, distribution or sale of such unauthorized copies is a violation of the Copyright Act. Any person found guilty of such an offence is liable to a maximum fine of $10,000 per article and/or a maximum jail term of 5 years.

It's illegal to compile on a mp3 player!? Only a bunch of idiots would write such a rule.
How many people here have mp3s stored on the devices mentioned here?
The face of the earth is being turned into one big giant prison.
