Ill-treatment of child or young person
5. —(1) A person shall be guilty of an offence if, being a person who has the custody, charge or care of a child or young person, he ill-treats the child or young person or causes, procures or knowingly permits the child or young person to be ill-treated by any other person.

Analysis.... If the child kena slap by the parent, the parent would have to prove that the slap was necessary... but usually, the court will most of the time assume the slap was a necessary disciplinary measure unless was otherwise proven...
