I plan to work in medical field because i want to help people. Its easier to comfort them as i have also been through some of the pain. Secondly, know whats the meaning of zhi2 ye4 bing4. As a GP, everyday most of you patients are all fever lah, colds or flu. It gets boring after a year. A job is good if its interesting and not always the same thing.

btw just out of curiosity...what's the minimum qualification to get admitted into Medicine?Either local or overseas....I know local competition is tough...not sure about overseas...any aspiring doctors who made checks before?

being a doctor is not that easy..
can u work hard?..can u study consistently?
if one of that answer is a no..then i suggest u dont dive into it..
being a doctor is to help people..come on...be realistic...people be doctor is to earn money so that they can have big big houses ...etc etc..
seriously...i dont see a doctor that only help people without taking money...are u the type?..
coming to studies...u have TONS...and i do mean TONS of work,research,assingments,PBL, etc etc.. can u handle it?..sacrificing yr weekends to do yr work?..
being dentist is not boring...it's one of the most interesting jobs...how often can u see into people's mouth?...right?..so dont make sweeping statments..
as for the requirements..i am not sure how that works in sg..but u can take a pre-U degree and see what results u can get..
eg..taking the south australian metriculation...if i am not mistaken ..international standard is about 90%. some uni like melbourne only take in people who got 99.95%..
well,there's always russia and india..which of course...have loop holes if u got the cash...
well..if u still persists...so go on..dont come back and whine..
and make sure u are loaded...a mbbs degree do not come cheap...
min is about rm 250k locally in malaysia..can go up to 900k in some countries..

Be an animal doctor then....lagi interesting...everyday can see different animals...confirm plus gurantee u sure won't get sianz...how often do you get to see naked bodies...

Anyways,if i'm not wrong you study for up to 5 years in Medicine. Being a doctor is a beautiful job...you are saving ppl's lives

They usually don't.
Only ER doctors and surgeons are directly responsible for bringing people back from the brink of death.
Most doctors just help to improve the health of people. A well educated population can take care of their own health most of the time.
People who save lives everyday are:
1. Paramedics
2. Engineers
Why engineers? Just because they are not as personally visible as doctors doesn't mean that engineers don't save lives.
Just think of how many bridges you cross everyday, the vehicles you travel in, the buildings, the lift, your office equipment, appliances at home, the ER equipment in the hospital...
These people may not say "Well I save lives everyday and I got doctor in my title so worship me." And because when things work everyone takes them for granted.
But if they make a mistake I assure you that everyone will die c o c k stand. -
My cousin's son is a doc in polyclinic, he has to see 70 to 80 patients a day- can u take this kind of workload?
