JC first 3 months

you might miss out on the fun socialising and making new friends in the first 3 months. academic wise you have to catch up on a lot a lot (and i really mean a lot), work super hard to be on par with the others.
from what i know during my time, proper lessons for 2nd intakers usually start after the march holidays, even when the results are released earlier.
probably some make-up lessons during the march holidays. -

First three months is basically chicken feet.
The difficult part comes in jc2.

i think the most difficult part of the jc life is the period before promos:
stressed by promos, which determine whether you can promote to jc2
busy with project work
taking over CCA duties and posts from j2 seniors -
thanks guy. I have another friend who intially didn't want to go JC, thus did not sign up for PAE. However, he had a change of mind. Can he still go for first 3 mths?

Invite him to your class, if your form teacher is ok, he/she might allow your friend into the class. If not, then only go for lecture lor. Missing the tutorials won't matter very much ba. -

dude, going to first 3 months in my opinion is extremely important. the jump from seconday to JC is at very large. the new environs, the social aspect of JC life is something vastly different from secondary school, especially if you're from an all-boys/all-girls school.
go in with an open mind, make new friends and develop your networking skills, and most importantly, join some reputable CCA if you dont want a lacklustre CCA record at the end of 2 years.
academic wise, can slack a lil'. though some JCs dont re-cover the syllabi after first 3 months. -

Precisely. I was, and still is, in NYJC and got one Indian crasher came into the LT. The lecturer looked pissed off while that Indian guy was making a hell'ya lot of noise.
