How to reject a birthday invitation?

How do you reject birthday invitation without getting caught lying?
I mean, a friend of mine invited me to his bday but the thing is, he invited his classmates whom I do not know at all. If I come to his party, I'm afraid I might be left out since the bday boy will be busy attending guests anyway. Plus, I'm not planning to give him a present.
Any great convincing excuses to suggest?

No you should not lie you should not reject his invitation either. Just because u dont know his friends dont mean u should not go, learn to mix around. Actually hor, I met his classmates before le during some kind of gathering. Friendly but sometimes left me out la cos i not part of da grp.
other reasons y i dun wan 2 come is because he wan to watch movies but he asks us to pay 9 50 ourselves. I broke le. If I tell him Im broke, he think i cheapskate. then summore i nvr give him present while others give him. -
Once in a while only. But i feel that you shld try to sharpen yr socialising skills. If not, when you come out n work next time, such very sad one.
