u seriously have no idea about the country that you're considering to migrate to.

that is something i do not recoommend.

that is why im asking arnd before actually decide on whether to migrate or not

ummm....thailand is HUGE (as compared to singapore)
and really, you cant get much info (or you might not get what you want) simply just by asking here...
go there and see the place for yourself
it isnt so easy to just go to someplace and find a job and settle down.
some people take YEARS just to move to another place...

its migration

u don't just ask questions and decide without even stepping into that country.
try taking a holiday there for a start, less the tourist events.

Then please for heavens sake. Come to thailand first and suss out the doctors that you want before finally deciding where you want to settle near those kinda doctors.

What is your profession?

What is your educational standard?

What is your budget to effect a migration?

Lots of us is already telling you. To come, see, experience and you get your answers.

Why arent you heeding them? Are you trying to live our lives instead of our own?

I just had a [email protected] added me at msn and he tells me he is 23 and travelling often to sg and thailand.

Then he wants to ask about migrating to Thailand.

And now he is lecturing me, trying to say that folks my age has no respect for kids his age.

I felt very insulted. As far as I can tell, he had taken my unwilling to talk too much to mean that he can insult my imtelligience as to how 'respectful' he was.

As far as I can tell, I dont care if you are 23 or 53.

If you cannot behave like a person that is worth talking to. Then shut up and leave. No one asked for your comment.

And Respect is earned. Not demanded like a 2 year old demanding candy.

On another note.

I am residing in Phuket Thailand. If you are genuinely coming to Thailand as Kopio is doing. Then there is much to talk about.

But if you want to continue being a jackazz and using your youth to get away with it. I will rather not discuss anymore with you.

No one needs another jackazz in their country. And I will not suffer Thailand the same way.

By aussuming words and putting words in others mouth and and then badgering someone to be reasonable. I find it as the unreasonable forcing others to be reasonable.

Is that too hard to understand? [email protected]?

You still have Reservist obligations. Unless of cos....you lied about your age in the first place.

And about networking Sg expatriates. Show up in Thailand and I will show you networking. You think expatriates are coming to thailand only when you deem to set foot in Thailand?

Geezzzzz......To call me rude, when all you did was blah blah blah and anticipate my replies with your imaginations....and then to blah blah blah somemore. I was tired and sitting quietly in front of the comp, with both my manicured hands folded on my lap reading whatever you typed out....and it just depressed me more and more with your lack of wit.

So what if I am in my 30s? I dont have a problem with it. The folks in Thailand dont have a problem with it. The folks in Singapore, japan and USA dont have a problem with it.

Whats your problem?

My details are all below. Maybe when you do land in thailand, you can give me a call and we can have singha beer and trash your problem out face to face.

You were right to type to me that old folks like me dont respect yougsters.

thats not me... and yar.. i will take some time travelling to thailand first before actually moving there.

I actually meant to come here, to delete my rantings last night and to bring forward a few ancedotes.

2 Singaporean man, both doing business but in different areas/industry.

One Singaporean man, did some repairs for the other.

The other later does not pay up the work done and instead ask for credit.....saying he will pay back when he has money.

That other after 1 year, still has not paid up; and had been accumulating more credits by requesting for more work to be done by the One SIngaporean.....and when chased to pay....citing: 'Aiyah, nevermind lah, we Singaporean mah."

Does being SIngaporean in a foreign land means that you can get your repairs or work done, without having to pay for the work done?

And then to continually folic with gals and friends at beer joints, enjoying your good life and your fellow Singaporean has to find money to go home to feed his family?

another incident happened in USA.

During a Singaporean gathering picnic.

A young SIngaporean student approached a couple that was sitting around, enjoying the picnic.

His opening sentence: Hi, I am so & so. And I am Singaporean.

The couple was like: Errr...Ok, we are so & so.

2 more sentences later, the couple decided that the young man is seriously wrong somewhere.....and he is definitely new to USA.

The youngman was actually trying to get help from the couple regards to his 'lonely situation' in USA.

ANd he was eyeing the couple.....with that look that says: I am singaporean, so why arent you helping me??!!!' kinda disdain look

Does anyone knows Singaporean is practically unheard of in the world?

Last one.

Just yesterday, shopping in Phuket Town. The earliest shop to open was actually Watsons.

So I was browsing there while waiting for my regular money changer to open shop.

2 separate batches of Singaporeans on holiday entered the shop, and I listen with amusement how they are bargaining with the cashier for more discount to their already discounted purchase. Not to mention trying to get the casher to let them take the One for One items.....without buying the items! And, the worse part...trying to ask if the cashier speaks english in their broken english?

The other batch was going...."Cheap! Cheap! Cheap!. And this or that one cannot buy in SIngapore, buy lah!"

Nuff said. I was cringing in embraressment. Things are indeed cheap in Thailand, but our SIngaporean behaviour needs some upgrading.
