I am currently residing in Phuket Thailand now.
At the Si-re island.
Am Chinese female Singaporean.
The population speaks Thai. Everything is in Thai. Signboards has improved to include English. So you wont have trouble.
Good to pick up thai language. Even their keyboards here typed Thai. Am still trying hardest to understand Thai, with some teochew dialect interspersed in their spoken thai. Need some getting use to.

end of this year, I will be driving from Phuket Island up to Changmai/Changlai for 2 weeks.
So you might want to call and ask questions before I am away from online contact.
And note: The average pay here for locals is below S$200/- per month. And we are talking about english speaking with some higher education, but lessor then university degree.
So it would be good that you are actually thinking of settling in Thailand as a businessperson/director of some companies then a mere local worker. The folks here are pretty talented in some ways so competition is way too fierce and difficult for any mere mortal worker. -

For Bangkok: Fast pace & expensive.
Changmai/changlai: Retirement place to be. Folks settle down there with plots of land, growing rice, plants & basically feeding mosquitos. -
Instead of doing a survey, why not just fly up? Tiger aiways ticks are extremely cheap. To and fro is around $138/- only.
If you are flying to phuket, let me know so I might host you.
What is S$138 where you might waste it on a bottle of liquor in Singapore in one night. -
if you're thinking about MOVING there.
i don't think it is a smart move to survey about a location and listen to people.
you have to be there, experience it and decide if u like the place. -

Just went for all you can eat steamboat/hotplate buffet.
100baht.....is like S$4
Food variety is fantastic...
You can easily live like a king with just S$300/- per month if you know where to live, eat & have your fun. -
the main problem is the languange. If you want an easy life in Thailand, learn some thai 'cause most of the ppl don't understand english. -
soo the main issue if i migrate there is the language issue?? what about the health and healthcare system there?
