Sorry but if I look it from another angle. Since nothing is fair in life. Don't you think its fair enough?Originally posted by VivId CrItiQuE:nothing is fair in life.
don't complicate things when they are very complicated alrd lol.Originally posted by kawasaki2:Then, what is life?
wat's it got to do with fair?Originally posted by kawasaki2:Then, what is life?
but don't you think when people says fair but they don't really mean it. As mention so long they get what they want is fair but don't bother if others get it. Don't you think that isn't really fair? It is a selfish "fair".Originally posted by Ito_^:fair is a subjective term. to me, fair is a win-win or lose-lose situation. dats fair. but life isn't fair, as we know. so we can try to be fair but need not be fair.
Yes, there are people who opposes the Government from giving grants to a selective group and people who opposes the way the transport system is in Singapore.Originally posted by NoSuchPerson:We keep saying that this is not fair, that is not fair. The question is, what do you mean by fair?
Maybe let me give a few example. Like: The government is not fair when they increase GST by 2%, the government is not fair when utility bills are increasing, the government is not fair when the PAP is dominating etc.
I truly wonder if that is someone who would say something like: Is there someone who says that its unfair that the government give grants to startups, give you a good transport system, give you food and a roof, give you lower income tax and such.
What I want to prove here is not what the government is giving or taking but what do you mean by fair.
From what I've been noticing, we meant fair by "so long I get what I wants means fair and I don't care where you took it from" and "so long you take things away from me means unfair and I don't care where you give it to" concept. Am I wrong?
Please give me your opinion. I wanted to ask this question for quite sometime and only now that I have the time to post it here. Cheers!
Well, can you suggest something that is definitely fair so as to prove that "Never" is wrong?Originally posted by january:"Nothing is fair" is a WRONG statment........
are you sure everything is unfair.......
there are systems built and developed to create a fairness. however, there are too many things in life and it is impossible to built fairness into everything.
furthermore, people like to see things as unfair to them only. for things which and fair to themselves but unfair to others, they just ignore it and dun complain. this is the selfish nature of human.
"NOT everything is fair" is a better statment.
BE careful of universal words like "everything, NEVER, and NOTHING" because they are seldom true in reality!!!!!!!!
Sweeping statements can be easily proven wrong only when it comes in situations where the statement is used on cases with fixed possibilities and probabilities and random occurences are limited to zero.Originally posted by january:the probabilty of tossing a coin head or tail is near to fairness..
equal probabilty
dun argue with me about precise probabity.. that would be asking for too much.....
it is fair if there is some human respect to singaporeans. it is fair when they hear our views. it is fair when decision is by us not by them.Originally posted by NoSuchPerson:We keep saying that this is not fair, that is not fair. The question is, what do you mean by fair?
