some girls are high-maintenance lar. that one you cannot be too nice to them or they will keep expecting high demands from you. If you never grant their wish, they will kick up a fuss and start an argument.
meanwhile, there are also down-to-earth girl who will appreciate your sincerity and kindness. The more you are nicer to them, the easier it is to enjoy a harmonious relationship.
So the root cause is not just the guys but the type of girls they are dating also. -

It depends, doesn't it? But you can start by thinking about the good guy/bad guy formula in a family situation. How many percent of da good guy do you need to portray before your partner sees you as "boring" and maybe do smth naughty behind your back juz for the sake of fun? How many percent of da bad guy do you have to keep before she finds you icorrigible or to tiring to settle you down and file for divorce?
If you date purely for the sake of dating, your "formula" is ok in some sense. If you "date" not for dating, BUT really for the intention of sharing your life with another person as he/she would share with you, I suggest you show your true self and also see his/her true colours and see if you two can get together and not be those who marry and divorce. I am sure you do not want that, right?
Ask the people who have been through such and those who can maintain good relationships with their spouses. They can answer your questions more than I can think of for now.
