Segregation of the blacks occurred during the 50s and 60s. The statue of liberty was built and assembled much much earlier than that. It is sure a sight to look at her, but how having a statue make everybody equal? Those WW2 German Nazis and Japanese had a lot in common. Sharing weapons, secrets. Had similar biological warfare divisions.
Hell, they even share the same type of "hitler" moustache.

I watched the movie Flags of Our Father on Tuesday.. Good show.. Made me think about war and how terrible it is.. It's really disturbing.. If really need to go war the mentality must change drastically if not cannot sia trauma sia.. Haiz.. Whenever I read one of these threads,
I feel a little concerned and disturbed.
Concerned because those photos are taken from the lense of American perspective, American interest, American history, American experience.
Disturbed because this forum is called 'SGForums' but yet the American reach is so far and so prominent, that some people will quote those photos and put them up as 'Powerful Historic Pics' as the thread title.
Perhaps a more suitable title is 'Powerful American Historic Pics'.
Personally, I feel a little sick of the overarching American influence in the media and its global influence.
I certainly do not take those pictures as 'Powerful Historic Pics' worthy of the interests of members of SGForums. They are merely domestic American photos.
If I want to, I can put up 'Powerful Historic Pics' and then I will show pictures of domestic Singapore photos, such as one Lee Kwan Yew crying in 1960s, or Japanese forces came marching down the streets of Singapore.
I certainly do not think those photos are less than photos of America in 1960s showing racial segregation.
