went there wannt to buy laptop bag. Ask the salesguy how much he said $79. I walk around and decided to buy it. The saleguy who attended to me not around. so i ask another one saleguy. When preparing to pay he told me is $89.
I told him should be $79 and he spoke in a bad manner tone and said " WHY YOU NEVER SAID YOU ASK SOMEONE LIAO!" NEXT TIME ASK THE SAME SALESGUY LA!".
Anyway, i bought it $79.
I told my friend about it he and he went to the shop and ask for the price again and this time the price he got was $109.
What yr views? -
There are some unscrupulous shops at Sim Lim.
Just be sure that you don't get intimidated by their tactics.
Remember, they need your money. That puts you in charge. -

Anyway that shop was in my BAN list now.

There was this one time, my friend & I went around asking the price of an IPOD NANO 2GB; so we asked every available shop and all was selling at around $220+ until we reached a 2nd level shop and this 'sialan' looking uncle said his was $199.. We were quite interested, so we told w'll be back and continued our search. Eventually, after waling around, we decided to buy from the $199 shop. So we asked the same Sialan uncle and he still say $199. We asked for charger and he said $48. SInce its too high, we went to buy the charger at another shop for $15. We came back again and wanted to buy the $199 IPOD but the stupid uncle said:
"No I not selling to you..cause you buy charger from other shop, then want to come here..No no go away.."
Once again, always becareful when you're over there..

As a general rule of thumb, avoid the shops along the 1st and 2nd storey and those backlane shops.

yeah, there's a saying which applies at SL. Things get cheaper when they're higher which means shops selling at the upper floors are usually cheaper. If you want something cheap, avoid the shops which if full of ang mohs or shops the the 1st lvl because the price is higher but very cheap for tourist. I noe some shops who like to put high prices; they got also say they sell even cheaper than others and say that they're bing discriminated my other shops WTF. Avoind backlane shops, but if you're lucky you can get something cheap from there but its not common(i came across a few before while looking for a graphics card). Basically i know that many shops way of doing business is they tell their salesman the " selling price " of the particular product , then how much their salesman quote to their customer , they don't care as it may be deemed as their " commission " for selling the product . So the higher the salesman quote to the customer and made a successfull sale , the more their " commission " in their pockets . Even when you buy cdr from certains shops you will also encounter such tactics and usually are those product without price tags , so that they can flunctuate their prices base on their judgement on their customers . Once they see you and consider you as a " carrot " they will chop mercilessly to fill their own pockets .
