I didn't take pure physics and chem during sec sch but still can take physics and chem at A lvl.... just need to do a little bit more than those who did pure sciOriginally posted by coldzero:I have applied for DSA to a particular JC. In seconary school, my subject conbination is as follows:
English
E Math
Combined Science (Physcis and Chem)
Combined Humans (History and SS)
MT (Chinese)
POA
Art
I've decided to take H1 Econs, H2 Computing, F Math and Physics. Without pure science and A math in my secondary school, I'm still allowed this conbination. Can I have some comments about the combination I hope to take in JC? Will it be damn tough to take H2 Math and Physics without Pure Physcis and A Math?
Then am I recommended to take H2 Math? Cause I'm damn interested in math and it shows in my constant A1 for E Math. However, my school don't allow me to take A math cause i'm in the Art stream. My teacher finds it wasted too that I weren't given a chance to take A math. DAMN school!Originally posted by ctstalin:I didn't take pure physics and chem during sec sch but still can take physics and chem at A lvl.... just need to do a little bit more than those who did pure sci
A lvl maths is like an extension of Add math, without prior Add maths knowledge its going to be very very tough for you. You sure u wan take F maths? Dun tink a decent JC will allow it
I thought if you don't take pure science in secondary school, you can only take physics OR chem OR bio.Originally posted by ctstalin:I didn't take pure physics and chem during sec sch but still can take physics and chem at A lvl.... just need to do a little bit more than those who did pure sci

whichever is applicable.
E maths is different from A-maths...maybe u can try appeal if they dun allow u to take F mathsOriginally posted by coldzero:Then am I recommended to take H2 Math? I'm taking JC Math, not F maths. Typo error in the first post.Originally posted by ctstalin:E maths is different from A-maths...maybe u can try appeal if they dun allow u to take F maths
i dunno about the H1 H2 H3 or watever cos i'm the last batch of the old syllabus
I'm taking Physics among the three sciences only. Heard that it's damn tough.. =/Originally posted by peeehead:I thought if you don't take pure science in secondary school, you can only take physics OR chem OR bio.

You are wrong.Originally posted by coldzero:I'm taking Physics among the three sciences only. Heard that it's damn tough.. =/
LoLs! Now I really worry about being retained in J1 (CHOY!!!) even before my 1st three month had started!Originally posted by SexyChin:You are wrong.
All are tough.![]()
Cause my foundation isn't really that good you see. I really don't wanna get retained; or end up in poly in 2008 (CHOY LA!!)Originally posted by papercut87:you really worry too much.CMON! just loosen up and enjoy ur bloody orientation, lah. its not even january yet.
provided u have a strong maths background. chemistry and bio are more theory-based..Originally posted by secretliker:Somehow I feel that Physics is easier than Chemistry and Biology.![]()
I'm quite inclined in math. I always top the class for E math and Physcis. That's why I wanna take Math and Physics in JC too. The only setback is that I don't take A math.Originally posted by papercut87:provided u have a strong maths background. chemistry and bio are more theory-based..

at most call me la, i give tuition at A lvl.
Most jcs do not accept maths c students without a maths.Originally posted by coldzero:I'm quite inclined in math. I always top the class for E math and Physcis. That's why I wanna take Math and Physics in JC too. The only setback is that I don't take A math.![]()
Hmm.. For my case, my JC does allow because I'm in the volleyball school team, and priority is given to me. However, I have to stay fully committed to the JC and my CCA. This means it would cut down my time of studying due to my CCA which takes at least 3 of my nights off each week. =/Originally posted by SexyChin:Most jcs do not accept maths c students without a maths.
So it depends on what jc you are in first.![]()
