actually Young Ming is pretty adored by many people... he has got his signature style of ending a report.
As for David Nye, he is Filipino... pretty CNN style.
saw that someone wrote "the state looks down on our accent"... agree that the state is always trying to advocate a neutral english accent (which by default shld not be sounding PCK, Brit nor American).
We should just talk like our ministers, instead of those talents on the local media.
talking abt other languages...dont you think fm933 and fm958 are also quite different? a taiwanese accented mandarin for the younger crowd...

Actually we should be proud of singlish too......when I was in Istanbul...a Msian man recognized me and my friend as Singaporeans coz of our singlish accent. *Victory!*
So to be able to find someone able to speak singlish on a foreign land, it feels like home is near! -
