ya...o lvls exams shld be started early..tink abt it urself..u nid to study 6~7 subjects which is alot...february and march to sum ppl is already considered late liao..do u noe that sum ppl started as early at sec 3...
So february and march is the best time..and if with continuous praticisng test paper, ten yr series, and textbook qns..it is no doubt that u can get alot of B or even A in ur result slip...
To me...o lvl is juz abt repeating and praticisng the questions...again and again to perfect it...

Ah thats true.
However, I said that because I assumed that the person would study for prelims, but even then, starting in Februray or even March is jumping the gun. -
i never knew.. i tried to retain but the school kicked me out anyways.

It actually depends on the individual itself. I started studying for my Os after I got 29 for prelims. It's like the result slip is yelling out to me "your O papers are coming!" and I get the message finally. And I'm the kind that still can study under pressure. Some people cant and they have panic attacks.

Kena retained before, can share with you that when you get retained, you will live like never before. You cherish things more then ever, you value time, you work much harder to make amends, at the end of the day, you emerge a different person. Sometimes, its a blessing in disguise actually. I came out of it, even more successful then some of my friends whom were doing well. So you gotta look at how you want to see it.
You can cry about it, and blame the world, or you can use it as an opportunity to show the world that it has been stupid for them not to realize your boundless potentials. -
I dono how it feels like to be retain.
But can see those who retain all very gangster like and have no motivation to study. So not nice to hear is say retribution, to put it nicely is the person not yet mature so need more time.
No offence, but all the retain ones i have come across still did not learn from their lesson and continue to slack. And now, i really got the impression that those ppl who retain just cant be bothered to think for their future and they don have the attitude and drive to reach for the better. And their discipline sucks. -

what i think is that i listen to lessons thats all.. and 1.5 months before O lvl, recall what teacher says and keep practicing like siao... go to library everyday for at least 8 hrs(minus the breaks). dont go with friends cos sure kena distract one. if you need help, just look at your notes or books. learn from the hard way and derive the answers. if u really canot find the answer, note it down and find one day and ask your teacher about it.
you study hard but also must study smart. study those topic which may come out one.. dont go study things will nv come out and sure will waste effort.
health is also important.. spend at least 30 mins each day go do some cardios. this will keep your mind refreshing.
your mind must be strong strong also. find some methods to give u motivation to make yourself study. like me: i always psycho myself that people around me are those smarties who have 7 A1s in their Os. i shall do better than them or at least be the same intelligence lvl.

as for the result compared from my prelims to my Os,
my A math from d7 jump to a2
m english from e8 jump to c5
my chinese from e7 jump to b4
my emath, cobine science still maintain as a1
my combine humanities from f9 become c6
but then my d and t from a1 become a2. (may becos i nv put in alot of effort)
ps: my route is em2(PSLE = 187)>normal academic (L1r5 = 17)>poly -

I'm still waiting for O level results...
But I only started studying for Prelims 3 weeks before the exam...
Still did fairly well, nothing really fantastic, but fairly well. Really, no need to worry one. -

Anyway, I came close to retaining before in JC1. The criteria back then was to pass 1 'A' level subject, and 2 'AO' subjects to qualify for JC2. I failed my econs and lit, but just pass for History by 2 marks. A few of my close friends didn't make it, and they were so disappointed that both of them dropped out go Poly.
I guess retaining is no big shame, but what matters is u yourself must not give up on yourself. For those taking major exams this year, my advice will be to start 1 or 2 months before Prelims. Do not wait until u get back ur Prelim results then start to panic, although that sure did a world of good for my class and myself during JC. There's simply too much to cram, and if you are the "slow-to-absorb" kind like me, then u better start early, so that u won't feel that u have many things to remember just b4 exams -

Anyway i used to be an express student,but there nothing really to be proud of being an express student or Uni students as no matter how well your grades are.it just a stepstone,it does not mean that u will get a gd job with gd pay -
last time i was from normal stream, there was one express student who demoted to normal stream. alot of my classmates alway find fault wif him n everytime beating him up, one of the reason was becos he was quite an arrogance fellow.
anyone encountered this kinda ill-treatment when u repeated? -
