- and now that li nanxing guy potraying himself as some ondeh ondeh seller..
and those countless variety shows talking about food...introducing food places... what makan places lost and found, food on bus routes, makan king etc etc....to top it off, they even import cheap hk and taiwan variety shows talking about food..
what the hell is wrong? every night i on the TV and i see shows about food..

I gave up on mediacrop shows like 4years ago.
Channel 55 HK dramas are pretty good.
Storylines sometimes same. But more interesting and better acting.
Korea and Japan dramas see chio bu can liao.
Singapore media industry no budget i think.
They even have to buy those lousy and not appealing china shows. -

They dun dare to film controversal series lah. And also Singapore's opera (I mean the Hokkien, Cantonese and the various dialects, not the "Phantom of the Opera" type) scene is always on a decline, a lot of good story came from these opera. The Channel 8 seven O'clock show now right, is from these opera one.
Singaporean scriptwriter only know how to get their materials from the present life, they know nuts about literature. -

The actors are so limited. They always appear on every show. It gets tiring. Not to mention, most of them are not eye-candy. -
Even their theme songs sound like sh** when compared to HK ones...

Haha ya loh they always do shows about food, then bankrupt, then the person's parents/sis/bro etc died, then they decides to work hard & his/her business becomes successful. Ending is they all sit at one big table to have dinner & tell lame jokes.

Years ago, back when there were two local stations competing against each other, mediaworks was a much superior rival compared to mediacorp.
One of the popular programme then was Makansutra, hosted by K.F Seetoh. It was unique as it was a unique programme then in local television. Due to its popularity, it was then copied by other stations.
Unfortunately for mediaworks, due to lack of funds, had to close its doors some years after.
I still miss mediaworks. It was a league of their own. -

the best shows were in the 90s. In fact that time I cannot miss even one ep, always make sure i m in front of the tv when the 7pm or 9pm shows start.
but now i dun even feel like sitting there to watch
