Actually for most ppls that seldom raise their heads to look at the nite sky, many things look like aliens or UFO to them. i have been into amateur astronomy or star gazing for many years and eventhough SG's sky being light polluted and not conducive, I have managed to observe quite a number of celestial stuff. For example, do u noe u can see bright satellites in a typical dark nite sky? Example will be the international space station or the Iridium satellite. Meteor showers can also be seen in SG only that it is not veri spectacular. For example I observed the Geminids meteor shower last year on 15 december.
My best guess of wad ppl seen is it is either a Comet Mcnaught or some bright satellites. For those interested in astro,I am glad to inform u there is an active astro forum in SG known as Singastro

We are talking about either bolide or returning space junk. My best quess is bolide.
Let me share the magnitude of this one. I was able to see it trough a tree. And also on both sides of a big tree (5-10 meters wide) as it leaved an tray behind.
If you multiply an shooting star by 10.000 we are getting close.
Another comparison: an jet plane from a 100-200 meters distance with a nice tale.
Check the link I left before, you can see the video from US couple of days ago. The difference for this one was that at least for me it was very very close. -

Edit: OK, guys, I'm trying to plot the trajectory of the object on a Singaporean map by marking out rough locations where the object was spotted, and I very seriously suspect that there was more than one object. Can anybody try to help me by posting the location where you spotted the object? The more specific, the better. Also, try to approximate the angle of the object in the sky relative to you, in which direction did you see it coming from, and how far it was away from your location. Also, did you see it from ground level? Or did you spot it from a high-rise building/near the peak of a hill?
I'm specifically looking for sightings reported from Changi, Paya Lebear, the North-East towns (Hougang, Sengkang, and Punggol), Tampines, Queenstown, Yishun, and Pulau Ubin/Tekong. -
