I was like you, working nights on weekdays and also working on weekends sometimes up to 15-16 hours without much rest, end up drinking about 3 cups of coffee to keep me awake everyday. Work took up more time than my studies. Although I don't skip class, I end up sleeping through them.
I was working for my school fees and pocket money, so no choice lah. But going final year liao, my parents also want me to concentrate on my final year project and also I see that should have enough to support myself through the last year and so I quitted my job.
Now, I got more spare time to do my own things(go out with friends, etc) and concentrate on my studies.
It's really not worth it to let work drag down your school performance, what for work so hard and earn so little and yet have to sacrifice your studies? For me, I feel that it is better to faster get my diploma and work in what I like (if possible) rather than work like a bull and earn not even $600 per month.
My parents dun giv me $ for all these things..and l tot of go work lor..
It seems like wrking part time really affects me....then forumities..u all tink l shld quit mah? Maybe see how this semester results bah..if failed 3 or 4 modules..l tink l shld stop wrking le.. -

I remember got a particular lecture which has a max count of over 100 in the theatre BUT most of the time in that semester only me and another 2 friends attended it. So attendance 3 out of 100++ and the lecturer sian½.
Dunno why but I love the fun in there IF you dun consider studying a part of poly life.

haiz...now going to school now is really a very scary thing for me le..let me elaborate in details. l mention in my earlier thread..now l goin sch is like playing cat and mice game...
So far...gt 1 project..semestral project...the tcher is chasing me like hell..he like wait wanting me to show him...but the problem is my project like lack of alot of things lehz...den summore he is those very fierce type of person..dun really noe wad he will do to me ..if l show him my project...cannot wrk de lor..worst is if he asked me to explain how l do my project...zzz
And oso..here comes the another module...which l write in front lor..attendance 78%...ask him help...show me attitude like dun wan help liddat...giving me the hint that "hey this is none of my business liao" ur fate shall be settled by the commitee members...
Where gt tcher liddat de..which ppl want turn over a new leaf...nicely tok to him..say l wan study properly for his module..will come punctality on time for his lessons and lectures from now onwards...but he die die oso dun accept! Siao
The rest...no tchers find me la..but l noe my results are very bad
But now l hav been trying liao..asking ppl teach me this and that..hope can salvage the situation a bit lor..
Hmm...in this semeter..out of 7 modules..l tink l hav a risk of failing 3 to 4 modules siah..and that is very terrible -

alamak.. poly only u complain.. i am also from nyp too but i enjoy my life there.. it might seem a bit tough to wake up early for lessons but once u get used to it, u will miss going to sch.. try to noe more fres, taking part in the sch activity..Originally posted by xShevchenkox:nyp ..engineering informatics

wait till u work, that is the worst man.. waking up early in the morning everyday for work, slogging like don noe what.. still have to face the boss every day..have to smile even if u are not happy.. have to act as if u are enjoying ur work.. and having to tik of working for the rest of ur life, that time it will be real torture man.. -

that time there is this new lecturer who mark my marketing paper.. there this question which i suppose to score full marks but becos of my handwriting, she didn;t give me marks for that.. so i approach her and ask her why i get a zero for it.. she say my handwriting too messy, illegible so she wun give me marks for that.. so i say everyone can read except u.. none of my lecturers ever complain bout my handwriting.. so she ask my fre if my fre can read out what i write, she wil give me the marks straight away.. luckily my fre manage to read out my answers perfectly.. in the end, the lecturer nothing to say, give me the marks straight away.. then when i leave the classroom, i say out loud to my fre," see some lectureres inexperience means inexperience, still dare to blame pple for their handwriting, don noe why can be lecturer... " the lecturer overheard what i say and from that day onwards, she hated me to the core.. anyway, i heck.. cos that is my last semester and it coming to an end soon.. i wun have to face her anymore.. haha..
