well i myself am in NYP too and erm, i have many self-declared hols honestly there's loopholes with the attendance system and you will get to learn it during your 3 years. are you year 1 this year? IMO i feel those lectures where teacher call your names and need to tap card those must go. as for those lectures which just require you to tap card, just pass your friend the card and go.
hmmmm as for warning letters they will have to go through your mentor as well to see whether he wants to issue u the warning letter or not. its 2 warning letters before debarment. but after your 2 warning letters u cfm scared till come for every lecture already trust me.
you said you hate to study. i mean i believe 90% prolly don't like to study either. we're all in this together
try using some form of motivation like coming to school for your friends or smth. don't always think of it as coming to school for your diploma cert. if its attendance that you're really worried about, just give your friend (someone you trust to always go lectures) your admin card and let him/her keep it till u need it again. poly is really a time for freedom. do treasure your time here -
tahan 3 years then you are free to do whatever u wan le..
maybe the problem is that u are working on weekends making u tired that makes u lose interest in your studies?

Stop working if you can. If you only working for the extra money and not to support your school fees, I suggest you stop before you get burn out.
I was like you, working nights on weekdays and also working on weekends sometimes up to 15-16 hours without much rest, end up drinking about 3 cups of coffee to keep me awake everyday. Work took up more time than my studies. Although I don't skip class, I end up sleeping through them.
I was working for my school fees and pocket money, so no choice lah. But going final year liao, my parents also want me to concentrate on my final year project and also I see that should have enough to support myself through the last year and so I quitted my job.
Now, I got more spare time to do my own things(go out with friends, etc) and concentrate on my studies.
It's really not worth it to let work drag down your school performance, what for work so hard and earn so little and yet have to sacrifice your studies? For me, I feel that it is better to faster get my diploma and work in what I like (if possible) rather than work like a bull and earn not even $600 per month. -
i from last sem i sian already.... not much aims.... not not interested, maybe very lazy
now i dont expect much just pass slightly better can already.... all lectures nv go everything dont know just go there sit.... but last sem luckily all exam passed.... i read up/flip abit that exam day for each paper....
ever since that time i always think can heng heng pass.... (last time beginnin still got aim A or B.. but now dont care already) but this time round not so lucky.... the tests i didnt do that well.... in fact i failed 2 test papers which i never fail before for such papers (not exam)
now i only tell myself faster graduate lo. also dont know if i've chosen the wrong course or what
TS: your lect is compulsary ah ?? for the sake of the cert just bear with it lo your gonna graduate soon right

Actually I kinda like my poly life... bar the lectures and tutorials and practicals.
I remember got a particular lecture which has a max count of over 100 in the theatre BUT most of the time in that semester only me and another 2 friends attended it. So attendance 3 out of 100++ and the lecturer sian½.
Dunno why but I love the fun in there IF you dun consider studying a part of poly life. -

I jitao hot, approached him and asked him what he meant by that, he suka suka dun mark can dun mark meh? deprived me of that 1 mark? i failed my paper bcos of that question u know? Then he still said "aiya anyway your answer is irrelevant wat." He lucky he never kena assessment from me, if not, i sure fail him. But he also know very well I hate him. It's really a humiliation, never in my 22 years of life got a teacher refused to mark my paper bcos of my handwriting and still got the cheek to say my answers are irrelevant when he din even bother to read at all. -
Y didn't you report this to the administration or Head of department? This is not what a tutor is paid to do. As a professional he IS TO mark all scripts regardless of relevance or what and his work ethic is questionable. ya l agreed with what u say..tot nver study still can pass..okok nia..but as the semester goes..the modules are getting tougher and tougher...like l this semetser...2nd yr, 2nd semester...very jialat..l go sch oso a bit scare scare de..cuz l noe tcher were be looking for me...asked me sign this counselling form and etc...or wan tok to me abt projects and etc..very stress lor..like the cat and mice game...the tchers are the cat..and l am the mice..
