How's everyone.
I have just meet up with someone who has the similar interest and she is a dance teacher and choreographer too.
We met for the first time and yes, we hit off well. How's everyone been doing? -
Hi there,
I just need to get this off my chest so , forgive me if I am a little blunt. Today, its my first time teaching little kids from 4 to 5 years old of age and I had a very very hard time getting their attention. This is my first time and I am not enjoying every moment of it. This class is a relief from another teacher so, it is a good exposure for me teaching to the young ones but...I feel a little shocked.
I start to realised that my strength right now is to inspire teens all the way to adults with no problem at all.
Those little kids are so challenging and I actually feel useless.... I am with no child of my own and to control the whole class of 15 kids are so difficult.
Sorry guys that you have seen this because I just want an outlet for frustration.

Cheer up! Kids are not ez too handle u noe.. Especially when they have short attention span..
Dun put too much pressure on yourself ok..

don't worry about it.. children have very very VERY short attention spans...
short of scaring the crap out of them, there is very little you can do to capture their imaginations for an extended period of time

I thought of using a lot of imaginary stories to engage them but by the time I finish my names calling, they are gone in their own world.
One of the kid actually cried for mummy and I hug her to outside of the class but could not find her mum. So, at the end, she actually asked me what happened and the thing is, nothing happened. Its just that they are all over the place and I tried all means and ways like getting a green magic flying carpet, getting a blue mat for them and skipping myself around the class to engage them.
You know what,........... My salute to all teachers handling young kids of this age.
Now, I am wondering if I am gonna have my own kid. I am not young anymore but I am just not ready to have kid. Having a kid will put on hold of my dancing career for at least 6 months to a year.
I must have sound paranoid...hee hee
Anyway, thanks for your encouragement Lazy Bear and Motoway. -
children are like that... one of the highest stress jobs is being a kindy teacher...
you did good... maybe one day you'll find your way and hey! only when you feel ready to have a child.. and even then, you will have doubts but keep at it!
because you care enough to think this way, shows that you will be able and ready when you have a tiny dancer of your own -
