I feel the best is:
Normal Usage, 2 banks' ATM cards
1. POSB or DBS
2. OCBC or UOB
You can withdraw from DBS or POSB using either of their cards and the same for OCBC and UOB.
Savings (not FD), SCB, e$aver account. Used to have 2.45%pa interest, now dropped to 1.8%pa, but still much higher than most of the rest. Another comparable is Maybank.
Credit Cards
1. HSBC -for the GV movie ticket discount
2. CitiBank Dividend card -for the cash rebate
3. POSB everyday -although the card quite low-class to some people but also offers cash rebate.
4. UOB -for their discounts at alot of restaurants (also HSBC and Citibank.
And I feel the most stylo milo but almost useless card for me is the ABN AMRO platinum. Good looks, but mucham no use one... -
Or the UOB campus account, cos you dun have to terminate the account when you're no longer a student, plus you have a debit card and free checking facilities.Originally posted by FireIce:

However this problem can be solve by opening a creditline account. You transfer money from your savings account into the credit line before issuing out cheques, hence you will not use the credit limit of the credit line and hence no interests insurred. And, usually there is a 1 year annual fee waiver for the credit line account. Just call to waive the annual fee when charge, if they dun waive the threaten to cancel the account. -

I bank with OCBC. Just convenience, their branches near my home and my parents' home. -
Closed OCBC savings acct coz dun like their service and they refused to waive off the $5 charge when I wanna replace my damaged OCBC atm card....
And they rec my mum one of the insurance policy that earns pathetic returns... this PIssed me off Big TIME~@@
But OCBC can withdraw $5k in a day for corporate acct... UOB can only withdraw $3k.
UOB is gd~!! Internet banking for Corporate acct is Free..
the chequeing i-account can earn some interest compared to normal chequeing acct which doesn't earn u any interest... $2 charge per mth thou... must keep $3k minimum to break even the $2... -
Service wise OCBC is better. Once my credit card payment was late cos cheque got misplaced, they waive late payment charge.
UOB, DBS, POSB the queue very long & slow. Most of the times I'll use quick cheque deposit & ATM.
Credit card- UOB cos u can redeem vouchers from a wide range of restns & shops. U need min. 240- 300 points can redeem, other cards u need more points.
For teens- can open UOB TX a/c, min $100- get debit card, also use your points to redeem movie tickets etc.
Fixed deposit- I prefer Maybank better interest. Their bank officer even called me to tell me to top up my FD so I can get special rate, u don't get that kind of service from other banks.
Standard Chartered also not bad- eSavers a/c can check online & better int. that POSB/DBS.
