Agreed...if u noticed the ads, the plastic bags they used are like those big red coloured ones where you can find them at wet markets, I thought they printed their logos on themOriginally posted by mr_sotong:impossible..

Sheng Siong supermarket is at Tanjong Katong road, just beside Lion City Hotel. Near to Paya Lebar MRT.

I've seen up to 20% difference in price before for certain tidbits.

If the stuff is cheap, whats the problem? agree with you, Ignatiaus. It's saving $$$ that we care about especially in Singapore. Besides, reasonable price, they have a wide range of stuff. Comparing prices, prices of the majority of stuff at NTUC can't beat Sheng Siong.
Sheng Siong has their own plastic bag, just dunno why they seem to stop using them already. The design of plastic bag looks good. -

Coz the aunties will buy cheap stuff at Sheng Siong
I think coz they don't use their own plastic bag design is to cut cost. If they cut cost they can pass the savings to customers.
Thats why by appearance they are not fancy looking compared to other supermarket coz they don't spend on decoration so thus saving cost.
Thats why they can afford to have lower prices -

agree with u. boos of sheng siong was interviewed on tv some time back. He said priority of sheng siong is to offer cheap or lowest price of stuff to consumers. He cares about customer satisfaction!! He started Sheng Siong a number of yrs back in Woodlands. Sheng Siong was a small shop then. Now it has expanded so much! -
Im not too sure whats so special about Sheng Shiong having cheap price.
Supermarkets all sell cheap stuff anyway.
Even if there is savings, I dont think I will bother to deliberately choose a cheaper supermarket.
As long as whichever one is nearer and has the stuff I need to buy.
