So are you trying to say.Originally posted by cAr|n:i think school image is very important. it affects how people view its students in society. everytime a student puts on the school uniform, he represents the school. as such, no matter whether the student is in school or outside school, i think he should respect that represents hundreds of other students from the same school. u wouldn't want everyone to think that ABC school has this paikia or sloppy students image right? what will happen when next time u tell people u are from ABC school? people will naturally associate you with paikia or sloppy.
in fact, school uniforms are just on the surface. to truly uphold the image of the school, students should also behave well, especially when they are in the public eye. then people will think, "wah, this guy is from ABC school, so well-behaved and polite, the teachers must teach them well."
school image is really very important, because it affects the reputations of the many teachers, students, and alumni from that school. school uniform is really just one part of it, but i feel that all students should respect their uniform and wear it with pride
I tell you what's ugly, wearing long 4 and slippers, now thats ugly.Originally posted by Unidentified:i think wearing slipper with unniform on really look ugly , especially those with long pants , look like ... (dunno how to describe) , but is very ugly , slacky feeling
why would it be about hypocrisy?Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:So are you trying to say.
Its all about the reeking hypocrisy we have in the society?
when i was in sec school they said that very often...Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:So are you trying to say.

Its all so superficial.
Another question.
Why wont teachers and staff from the school just spit it out and say.
"You must do this, if not you will spoil the image of the school, and school image is very important to us"Why do they have to come up with dozens of excuses. But not the truth?
Cause it like.Originally posted by cAr|n:why would it be about hypocrisy?
image is very important in society. it's present when companies talk about branding, when the govt talks about clean and green environment, when the military talks about discipline. while it's true that image may not reflect true circumstances, it forms a first impression in people's minds. and we all know how important first impressions are.
wouldn't u feel pride when u belong somewhere with a good reputation than somewhere notorious?
Serious bo. You last time what school one.Originally posted by udontknowme:when i was in sec school they said that very often...
every other thing was about school image
But why arent school pursuing this?Originally posted by Hogzilla:Skool image only for show one.
If the school really enforce good education, which includes moral education, then even if u dun stress on the image, the image also will be good one. If otherwise, no matter how you stress on image, the end product (students graduated liao) is still kenna sai one.
Last time my classmates has lip studs too.Originally posted by digicharat:since when did schools allow male students to have ear studs/rings?![]()
i somewhat agree with you but the problem comes when schools place more priority on their image over their students' well-being, until they don't care what or how the students think.Originally posted by cAr|n:why would it be about hypocrisy?

Because it is VERY tedious for the teaching staff part and not all the parents are co-operating. Teachers alone can't do the moral education, it is the parents that does the most. It takes two hands to clap, you know.Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:But why arent school pursuing this?
Because they know they cant? Or they teachers and staff dont care as long as the image is there and they get their pay?
Thanks alot. I hope one of my school staffs see this.Originally posted by Ito_^:i somewhat agree with you but the problem comes when schools place more priority on their image over their students' well-being, until they don't care what or how the students think.
imagine a company made a product worth $0.10 and it totally sux due to bad QC and other internal costs cutting but devoted 3 million dollars to marketing and branding.
would it be a good product? take slim 10 for example, so what it has artistes promoting the product, and all those marketing campaigns, its poison underneath. if its poison, its poison.
they are leading students to believe that they are sidelined by those rules, not for their own good but for the school's "reputation". with that, how can there be any pride instilled? at the end of the day, they are gonna either do their best to rebel or follow like a sheep. that is a bloody waste of time.
i think showing them what they should do, if they are proud of their school and do their best to instil that pride, but not force them to accept the rules, much less making unreasonable demands.
