While i agree that some of the rules should be reviewed (notice i used the word review, not dropped), rules are meant to teach discipline.
I notice that the lack of discipline we see in our current youth is very much correlated to the failure to instil and implement tough rules, not just in schools but at homes as well.
From my interaction with youths, the mentality of "Rules-are-meant-to-be broken" is very much stuck to their mindset. As a Gen X-ers, i must admit that we are the generation that launch this mentality. However, it never created such a huge social impact then compared to what we see today.
Truely, we are witnessing the most atrocious social degradation we have ever seen yet.
