Am I an atheist,

A few days ago I happened to talk to someone who also surfs sgforums. I just happened to tell that person I'm an atheist. That person looked stun for a while and asked me,"What do you have against religion?"
I told him I didn't have anything against religion or anything, I just don't believe in god, gods or whatever. Apparently he has some mindsent that atheist is someone who opposes religion. And up till now, I thought it was just not believing in any religion.
Sheesh. -

atheist is someone who doesn't believe in god or deities....agnostic is someone who believes it's impossible to know whether or not God exists.

So what do u believe in? Are you trying to tell me that jesus christ is not son of god but merely a mortal, since you don't believe in god, if u say that u are Jehovah witness, i might actually believe you, the ironic is first, u mention that u are an antheist, then u change your mind to become free thinker, so what are u?

You are actually quite right to call yourself an atheist. My understanding of the term "atheist" is simply that you deny or disbelieve the existence of a supreme being or beings. atheism is correct belief system because there is no compelling evidence for the existence of god.
i know those believer will have lots of evidence but their reasoning and logic system operate on different wavelength.
we cannot prove 100% that there is no god because proof is a very demanding process. but we can say 99% there is no so the best option is to not believe in it. -

So what am I? I don't believe in god, I know that its impossible to know whether god exist and the one of the reason I don't believe in god is I'm lazy to have to attend church and stuff.
People ask me why don't I believe in it? I replied if I see god then I will believe in it.
Atheist or agnostic?
I just want to be free of everything I guess and heck care.
