My 12 choices? Opinons?

  Hey guys, I'm kinda hesitating with my choice of courses here and wondering am I doing the right thing. I mentioned before I got 14 for L1R4 and Nil for L1R5 cause I gave up on my humanities since I wanted to go poly from young.
  
  My 12 Choices with COP and poly at side as follow (positions might change):
  
  1) Infocomm Security Management - 14 (SP)
  2) Network System & Security - New course in 2007 (NP)
  3) Computer Engineering - Unknown, heard from the SP poly speaker its about 16-18 (SP)
  4) Electronic & computer Engineering - 26 (NP)
  5) Information Technology - 26 (SP)
  6) Information Technology - 26 (NP)
  7)Information Communication Technology - 20 (SP)
  8 ) Engineering Common Year Programme - 24 (NP)
  9) Information Technology -26 (RP)
  10) Electronic, computer & communication Engineering - 26 (NYP)
  11) Information Technology - 26 (NYP)
  12) Computer Engineering - Unknown (TP)
  I know that Information technology are all poly combined together and the uknown poly is with the highest COP is 26.
  
  I'm hesitating because I heard a poly speaker from SP keep telling me that engineering is better and stuff... Ok, my aim is to get to University studying computer science (ya, I know it might be a dream but after all I have a aim) and when I look at newspaper I sort of see IT jobs require engineering cert (I'm not really sure since I just sort of glance through the newspaper) so I'm wondering which course will be suitable.
  
  Ok I wanted to go Infocomm Security Management but you see its COP is 14 and my L1R4 is also 14, chances for me getting in is extremely low. What I'm also hesitating is whether is to take away Network & Security (NP) and replace it with Computer Engineering (SP). I maybe worrying too much since its a new course and my L1R4 is 14 and again my chances in getting in is low, but what if I get in? For that course I'm not too sure whether I like it or not or is the course kinda similar to my first choice?

  I suggest that you don't put RP if it's not your desired choice. Cos a few years ago what they did was if you have any choice regarding RP regardless of the ranking they will put you in. That's what I heard anyway so think about it again.

  im from NP. there are few new courses. like hotel management. good for the up coming IR.

  Well what I'm interested in is IT or course related to computer. My initial plan is Infocomm Security Management, if not Computer engineering. However, I saw ngee ann with a new course - Network System & Security.
  
  No, though I take up Principle of Accounting in sec sch and scored an A2 for it which I do not know where it comes from, I do not like Accounting and stuffs related to it. To tell you the truth, I never revise for my POA before the O-lvl, I just left it to rot, so I think Business-related course is seriously not for me.
  
  So, I wonder should I go:
  1 choice - Infocomm Security Management
  2 choice - Network System & Security
  3 choice - Computer Engineering
  
  OR
  
  1 choice - Infocomm Security Management
  2 choice - Computer engineering
  and forget about Network System & Security
  
  What i'm worrying is is computer engineering right for me? Do anyone in it can tell me how is life like in it?

  Yea business alot of girls to see. I've seen the photos of some poly's previous Accounting batch. Damn lots of girl and only 2-5 is boys.

  Yes i fully agree.Choose IT if you are really interested in it,find out more about the course modules,career prospects and stuff.The poly lecturers will paint a rosy picture for you and it's up to you yourself to find out more.
  
  I got cheated into info comm at TP,which isn't really my interest and in the end i withdrew from the course in sem 1.2

  After reading all the comments, I think I will follow what one has said that is to go with your passion. I always wanted to go courses related to IT security, just hesitating because engineering seems to have more career options.

  Yah Business in poly ......with a future to be a clerk. My sis was a business grad of NP and what could she get? A clerk job because daddy don't own a company. So now she has to go get a degree to get into another program that gives an actual skill.
  
  Get a skill- it's better. Accountancy , Finance and Banking = skills. Business management = waste of time.

  yea, business studies not very useful, unless u go the HR route.

  If you want specialization, go other polys. RP is not suitable.
  
  If you want just a general diploma, then put whatever that interests you...

  This is so true...COP not impt...Future career not impt...What's important is that u are taking up a course that u really want to be in...Poly studies can be really hard at times but being in the course you like and doing modules that u can relate to will motivate you at that moment
