i have say that recreational sports and exercising is perfectly okay.Originally posted by aku1b0d0:sports encourage us to exercise more, biatch. which one do you treasure more, your health or money?
Don't farking nag here. Nag in front of the athletes if you think you're right.
it ENCOURAGES us to exercise more. 1 exercise per month is not even NEAR enough. so you like watching dramas huh? now tell me, which one is healthier? watching dramas while eating chips for 3 hours or exercise for 15 minutes?Originally posted by january:i have say that recreational sports and exercising is perfectly okay.
But in competitive sports, you are placing your health below anything.Originally posted by aku1b0d0:sports encourage us to exercise more, biatch. which one do you treasure more, your health or money?

competition and pride are pretty useless values for human. we need to focus more on simpler lifestyle.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:So long as competition exists, pride exists. You can't scale down competition nor pride.
They co-exist.
I beg to differ.Originally posted by january:competition and pride are pretty useless values for human. we need to focus more on simpler lifestyle.
i think i talked about sports industry as wasteful because sports events tends to require the buidling of infrastructure like stadiums and facilities. that is why for sporting industry in this sense, it uses much more resources. furthermore, when u see sportings, they are talking about the pride of winning which i think is very stupid.
yes you feel happy but the happiness is so fleeting and in the process , we use all so many resources.
Why spent so much on developing economies and not spend the money to improve the techniques of growing food?Originally posted by shutterpod:sad to say so.but i must agree with you.why spent 30millions on airplanes and stadiums when theres kids starving around the world?
i talking about the competitive sports industry and the associated marketing and fans spending market and idol markets.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Why spent so much on developing economies and not spend the money to improve the techniques of growing food?
Why must it always point to sports? Why can't it be other reasons?
It's called distraction and biasness.
Whatever you do, you will have to bear the consequences. Sports is NOT just the only reason.
Yes, you are right, but you are wrong as well.Originally posted by january:i think that sporting industry is being developed by companies and government because of the large economy behind. there seem to be large amount of money associated with it.
you are simply giving money to an industry that has very little workdone to the world and the increasing of knowledge.Wrong. Before you learn to run, you must first learn to walk. Just like understanding the knowledge behind sports. You won't understand what the heck are those scientists talking about if you have not studied Biology and related subjects. There's a lot of interconnections between each subject.
i do acknowledge that sporting organisation do engage in helpful things with the world like UNICEF links and some of its charitable events. What defines small? What is the definition of donation? Does it make sense to criticize them then?
however, the money donated is too small compared to the amount of money that is running around in the industry which has very little uses and i especially cannot take it when they speak of it as all in the name of winning and pride.
does the whole world calling you as the champion of champions and you feeling elated of being best really do anything except making you happy for a short moment. What defines simple? Once you answered this question, it would lead you to discover whether such a happiness is just for a short moment or a permanent feeling.
You've said it yourself, sports competitions are not just the only reason.Originally posted by january:i talking about the competitive sports industry and the associated marketing and fans spending market and idol markets.
because the nature of competitive sports is that it just compete and compete endlessly for things that are not important at all.
competitive sports industry is not the only wasteful and problemtic things in the world. illegal trading of animals parts is bad also. i agree but my topic is about sports here. so i will not talk about other problems here in the topic.
apparently u must be a young person who are not enlightened yet.Originally posted by fatslob:What's the point of economic progress?
