yeah i know we would be sponsored for the NIE training and would be given monthly salary too.Originally posted by mystee:if u want to be a teacher, and want to study in poly. make sure u can do well in poly. then go for an interview for teacher. they will sponsor u to study in NIE for 2 years for dip in teaching (think you will be paid too). if u are good, they will sponsor u another 2 years in NIE for degree in teaching.
and i feel so vexed whenever i think of it!Originally posted by nubcake:I'm in the same dilemma as you! Don't know if i should go to poly or JC. On one hand i have no idea what i want to be in the future, on the other hand i wouldn't be able to handle JC life.
Gee![]()
primary school is much harder to teach leh. Very difficult to pump infor. Best is Sec, not to hard and not to easy. JC is even more easy, just pump the infoOriginally posted by m0use:primary school
i think they are much easier to handle than sec school students
lol, i wouldn't dream of teaching in a jc when i don't even think i could handle jc life. haha.Originally posted by Darkness_hacker99:primary school is much harder to teach leh. Very difficult to pump infor. Best is Sec, not to hard and not to easy. JC is even more easy, just pump the info![]()

yes.. they will sponsor u to get your degree in nie for 2 yr... bachelor of arts, or sci....Originally posted by m0use:yeah i know we would be sponsored for the NIE training and would be given monthly salary too.
but if really do well we'll be able to pursue a degree?![]()

the website said the degree programme is 4 years. then if we did average but willing to pay for the fees to get the degree can?Originally posted by mystee:yes.. they will sponsor u to get your degree in nie for 2 yr... bachelor of arts, or sci....
but you will not be paid monthly.. but ur degree wil be free.. think u need to sign a contract too..
degree program is 4 years.. what i mean is... after ur poly, u apply for teaching thru MOE website. if they granted u for an interview, and accepted u, they will sponsor u to NIE for dip in teaching for 2 years (with monthly pays). After this dip in teaching, if u did well in that, they will sponsor u for bachelor in degree for 2 years, but for that, u are not paid monthly.Originally posted by m0use:the website said the degree programme is 4 years. then if we did average but willing to pay for the fees to get the degree can?
and the degree obtained is it can only be used for teaching? meaning it won't be useful if we don't teach anymore?
oh.. i got it.Originally posted by mystee:degree program is 4 years.. what i mean is... after ur poly, u apply for teaching thru MOE website. if they granted u for an interview, and accepted u, they will sponsor u to NIE for dip in teaching for 2 years (with monthly pays). if... after ur poly, u apply for bachelor of arts or science directly (NOT thru' MOE website), u still need to go for an interview in MOE, if u passed their interview then u will be studying straight in NIE for degree in sci / arts for 4 years (w/o going thru the dip in teaching).
i cant say that is not useful anymore, as some of the organisation do accept any type of degree qualification. but it will be more useful for govt sector, i suppose....
but have u ever thought, after u quit as a teacher, what job can u go into? that is y one of my prof ever told me that teaching is for those who are sick of working outside (retiree), thus is better to go into teacher after a certain age.
but do u noe that many company will rather employ a fresh dip than someone without experience at all and have grad for a few years.Originally posted by m0use:oh.. i got it.
even if i quit being a teacher, i still have my poly diploma to get another job. but i'd like to experience being a teacher. haha.
anyway there's quite a number of young teachers nowadays.
thanks alot mystee for telling me all these. so now i know i have a hope of pursuing a degree without going through jc life.
btw, if i get a dip in teaching first but results are average and the MOE did not sponsor me in the degree, can i still apply for it? cos i really want to get a degree..
okay, thank you very much.Originally posted by mystee:but do u noe that many company will rather employ a fresh dip than someone without experience at all and have grad for a few years.
hmm.. if i m not wrong, bachelors of arts & science is a MOE program. so if MOE din approve u to study, u cant pursue in that field. but u may have chance to do so, after a few years of teaching experiences.
