Friends

I have just came to the conclusion whereby.
Friends are just people you make use of, and they make use of you. And we take turns to make use of each other.
IMO simple things like asking you to accompany him/her to buy some things is considered as making use off.
Things like asking you to help him get the number of his dream girl is making use of.
You feeling bored and calling him up to talk to is considered making use of him.
The term "making use" does not mean its life and death matter.
And you backstab me i backstab you. Most of the times its just simple simple things that we dont realise i think.

Those very close to you are true friends and I guess they will help you when you are in trouble. But those slightly 2nd or 3rd degree of friends will leave you when you need help.
Well I personally dont have much true friends but I do have alot of 2nd to 3rd or friends. tsk tsk tsk.

Take the girls in my class for instance.
Originally there are 4girls in my class that were good friends for 4years.
And becuz of one simple backstab incident. 3 of them isolated the one that backstabed them. And during the four years before the incident they were still claiming that how long will their friendship last and talking about how TRUE their friendship is.
I guess what Oscar wilde say is true. But according to the mentality of teens nowdays. Critisizing or rather giving construcitve comments to your friends is already almost a direct K.O to your friendship. GG -

Since school days I aready know this logic, so now I have 2 very close friends enough liao. It's a give and take thing, so look for friend who willing to share and give then it wil be a more happy relationship.

Quite true also lah the topic. It is getting more apparent that people are using others for their own benefit. Seldom do we really see people going out of their way to do something good for their friends. The fast pace of society doesn't allow us to sit down and evaluate ourselves.
That's why I do not have many friends lah. For one thing, I can't stand hypocrisy. -

But in the end its crap. And whenever i tell them about this, they dont care.
Yeah some friends do help you when trouble comes.
But when they get into trouble. They expect you to help them also.

well.. rather than say its making use, its give and take; its sharing. and most important of all, its voluntarily. i can ask you to do something but you have to do it willingly and the converse is true. this is different from say an employer-employee relationship which is more transactional because of the terms involved. one wont call that a friendship.Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:No, i wont give them a chance to.

and you have also pointed out the other important characteristic of friendship - that is, doing something for the other party without having the party to ask.
of course, the extent and depth of the "things" that one does when asked and even when not asked is influenced by how deep the friendship is. -

And i sure do have ALOT of fair-weathered friends.
Now i only keep a few great great friends close to me,for they are all i need.They are the ones who stuck with me whwn i needed them most.
