Hmmm, one of my malay friends told me, there is a bunian(spirit) kampung or house somewhere on the island.
Passing by it you will see that there are chickens roaming ard... and a well kept frontyard. it looks like any normal occupied home.
but its occupied by spirits of a diff realm...

It is rumoured that in the past, there is a mining incident where many miners where burried. The company refused to dig them up and the dead could not get out of the place. It is also rumoured that when the birds around the quarry flew away, it is time to get out of the water, as the birds are supposed to "protect" the people swimming by pecking the hands of the ghosts grabbing the legs of the swimmers. -

Once my team and the insturctor went into the forest to find a letter that contained the grid reference of another point of Ubin that we were supposed to go to and we stumbled upon an old chinese grave...
It looked damn scary with the red chinese words scribbled over the tombstone, like those of some horror chinese films. -
in ubin, the sandflies are more power than mosquitoes
and if u lucky, u get to see fireflies............ -

I used to go to this particular quarry which is split in the middle, a path leading down gently to one of the quarry pools with high cliffs on all sides.
It was simply lovely. Hardly anybody, clear waters, picnic by the side, dive from the big rocks.
But too bad, too many risk takers who drowned cos they think they can swim very well but forget that its hard water. So very sadly now not 'allowed' to go swimming there already. -
Water with high mineral content. Usually harder to float in hard water and swimmers tend to tire more easily cos more effort required. Sometimes leave a soapy afterfeel when u swim in hard water.Originally posted by stookie:what do u mean by hard water???
