Can non-vegetarains/omivores claim to themself to be animal lovers?

Some eat because of religiion
Some eat because want to be slim slim
Some eat because of health concerns

But if you truely love animals you will feel digusted eating them what.
Or is it people only care abou cuter animals. Chickens,cows,pig all this they dont care.
I bet if someone say they eat dog and cats someone will surly thing it is wrong and they dont love animals. -

No, because they eat animals too, so how can you eat something that you love? Some of this so called animal lovers are hypocrites, unless you are a Vegan you can claim you are an animal lover.

If people that eat meat are not animal lovers, you won't see anymore tortoise in this planet. They won't care about animals, anyway.
And omnivores eat meat, too. -
See IMO 80% of the people arent really animal lovers.
Its just because they just follow what others do. Cause like eating tortise aint really socially accepted world wide. I but if one day the newest trend of delicacy becomes eating dolphin. Everyone will start to eat dolphin like chickens.

We eat cattle and poultry and fish to survive.
We care for little animals like dogs, cats, rabbits and hamsters because most cannot fend for themselves much in the environment they live in today, which is inhabited by humans. And because these are animals that people keep as pets - some regard them as family - so when they see the same kind, there's a tendency to want to protect them.
Maybe the term "animal lovers" is to be used loosely?
To love all animals and protect their lives is an ideal.
Eating them is being practical.

I dont really want to consider myself a animal lover.
Even though i love to play with dogs, cats hamsters and i dont harm them.
But due to the fact that i know humans are simply selfish creatures i dont think anyone in the world is really a animal lover. The term "animal lover" is just created for humans to feel good about themself. Same goes to all the fund raising activities for animals and all the ads to stop killing of endangered animals. IMO if you really are a animal lover. You wont even eat chicken.
