We care for little animals like dogs, cats, rabbits and hamsters because most cannot fend for themselves much in the environment they live in today, which is inhabited by humans. To love all animals and protect their lives is an ideal.

Different people eat for different purposes - the poor eat to survive, the rich eat to enjoy.

Thats what i am trying to say. We only care for cuter animals or animals that are endangered. So i dont see how can anyone claim themself to be a animal lover. You can think you are one mentality. But the fact is you arent. -

"Animal Lover" is a loose term.
Those who think animals should be loved and not eaten are called "Animal Protection Activists".
