Your optician will probably let you try soft disposable lenses to see if you can adapt to contact lenses. The degree does not make a difference to the price of the soft lenses. But if you have high astigmatism, then will need to wear permanent hard lenses which are harder to adapt to (more irritating to the eyes, and may not be suitable for some). There is no disposable version bec they are expensive to make.
How old is the TS? You could have started on contact lenses earlier as they can help to stabilise the degree (depends on individual). In fact, over the years, my degree has decreased gradually bec of wearing contact lenses. -

my optician gave me 2.60 and 3.25 which is my specs degree
but i must wear 2.75 and 3.75 for very clear sight
