help in internet cable

I live in a 2 storey hse but my SCV cable is downstairs. I want to bring my com up to my room but the cable wire is not long enough..
Is there any other solution other than buying a wireless modem??

Data being data, can only travel for a limited distance. Unless you don't mind spending for a long wire and repeaters...

Getting a cable man to fix a cable point might work, but I have no idea what's the cost.
If you want a long cable, you might as well get a repeater, it's cheaper. But in the long run, if you are going to add more PCs, you will cry. Repeaters aren't cheap and neither are LONG cables. -
