I will suggest a router. Even though signal strengths may be weak, but at least you are guaranteed that data won't transfer halfway and go corrupted or lost. -

I tell you use repeater will lag - why? Data keeps getting repeated to make sure that none is lost or corrupted. That's why internet speeds are not always as advertised, because repeaters are being used.
Go dig up the Taiwan earthquake article, they got explain how we are interconnected.
And wireless = no cables. You need wires. You think your router or modem so pro can run with the heat generated from your PC ar? Or you can produce electricity for your router or modem? If cables has no wires, that cable is USELESS. -

A card will roughly cost $40 to $50.
In total, still cost less than installing a cable point.

You used a type of cable called RJ45 cable. Telephone cable are called RJ11 cable.
