The reason should be because shopping centres sell mostly things that are for woman and woman usually shop not to buy things but just looking around,while guys usually spend some effort online searching for what we want,go to the shop,grab it and case close.
I will like to ask,will a woman be willing to company a guy looking at cars for 3 hrs?(for ladies who hate cars)Or spending time with her bf watching soccer for 5 hrs?(for ladies who hate soccer)

Yes, it can be boring at times but you must see who the gals ar/ gal is.
