If you travel frequently. you would have notice that most sales assitance wouldn't want to approach chinese because in their mind all chinese are fro chinese but once if they know you are from sg. they will open up to you and tell you stories off those chinaman

Actually Singapore belonged to the Malays in the ancient days - they are the indigenous people of Singapore . The native language is Malay. Raffles bought Singapore aka Temasek for the East India Trading Company and immigration started mostly from China and India for work.
Singapore will never be a part of China . It has stronger Malay heritage and ties in SE Asia than a Chinese heritage despite the majority being Chinese.
Modern Singapore was grown from the blood and sweat of migrants as well as ,of indigenous and migrant Malays alike despite all difficulties in the past. That is the beauty of our country. -
