What is English to a Singaporean?

Would you consider English to be your first language,2nd Language or worst language? What about those who speak English at home from the day they were born can we call them native speakers of English???

i am better in chinese but i speak english most of the time

Scottish and Irish people are automatically regard as English native speakers even though English is not really their language but if you tell the Japanese you are from SIngapore and is a native speaker,you kena throw stones even though your English is better than the Ozzies who are also in the native speakers club.

I know someone from China who recently became a US Citizen.She is now teaching English in a Primary School in Japan.Her English is so teruk!! but She is now an American and therefore a native speaker??? But at least in the eyes (but not ears) of the Japanese.

Struggled to pass my Mandarin from primary school till my A-levels.
