from what I have gathered so far:Originally posted by Gackt247:So far havent got feedback over at NTU. My friends at NUSBiz say it's not worth studying biz over there.
Moral of the story.. ask ur student to find Gacky.. hand in hand we go SMU admin block.![]()
I have already gone to the NTU one. I cannot find the open day for NUS.Originally posted by zodi:i'd say going to the open house is impt. go to the various institutions' website and check out their programmes lined up for this weekend. attend the workshops, seminars, listen to the lecturers/students speak for themselves.
u're gonna be in it (time, money, effort) for the next 3 to 4 years. better see for yourself before deciding.
actually i would take propaganda and advertising wiht a bucket of salt.Originally posted by AugoeideS:MBA wise...NTU has a very much better ranking as compared to NUS in Financial Times, but for undergraduate business degree, no such ranking available yet.
From SMU's open house website: http://www.smu.edu.sg/openhouse/2007/whysmu.asp
"Our graduates’ employment record is impeccable: 100% were employed within six months, with 66% offered jobs even before they graduated and 70% receiving at least two offers or more. Our top 20% graduate employees take home an average salary of more than S$4,600 per month, reflecting their rising earning power*
The choice is clear. An education that provides you the skills that last a lifetime that encourages you to transform yourself and make a difference!"
I don't know which one is better.
nbs is nanyang business school. it belongs to ntu.Originally posted by rainee:just the above two options, please
she is confused enuff between this two, no need to add another one![]()
the degree is Not very Useful in Singapore.Originally posted by choco B:I biased.NUS better.
Both NTU and NUS are having their open houses on this coming sat and sun (both days). you can get the info from their respective webbies. Just surf ardOriginally posted by rainee:I have already gone to the NTU one. I cannot find the open day for NUS.
the one lined for NTU is not really possible for my student. The talk about the accountancy/business degree will start around 1045 until 11 sth. She will be taking her exam in JB at that time.

well similarly for ntu its NBS is better mainly based on the accountancy component as you mentioned.Originally posted by VivId CrItiQuE:for those of u who easily typed "nus better", can justify?
NBS is accredited with AACSB and EQIUS, their accountancy program is recognised by ICPAS and ACRA. NUS Biz fac has AACSB, but not EQUIS, and their 'just out of the oven' accountancy program recently failed to obtain ACRA and ICPAS recognition. NTU's Accountancy program has a track record of producing outstanding accountants for the past many years, can NUS boast of any?
from what i know, the top business school in singapore currently is still nanyang business school. SMU is coming up, but not there yet.
This may sound offensive, but NUS is ranked higher than NTU becos they're a full uni wif law and medicine fac. If u compare fac individually, especially biz, i'll say ntu wins hands down. The onli advantage NUS has over NTU is probably the name "NUS".
Even though i'm biased towards NTU, at least i state facts to support my case.![]()
ah.. finally some1 speaking the truth.. not too sure about the hostel, but i know the system now change already, the further u stay, the higher ur chances of getting.. activities not so impt anymore.. it makes sense though that foreign students be given priority.. any ntu students staying hall can clarify?Originally posted by FireIce:NTU's nanyang business school has a stronger track record compared to NUS.......
NTU hostel no priority to foreign students?
I heard its offered in NUS too. New course.Originally posted by choco B:Accountancy degree only offered in NTU I think
well, the other specialisations are abit hard to compare. ok lets put it this way, if nbs accountancy and masters program are better than tt of nus, what are the chances that nus biz fac is better than nbs?Originally posted by hisoka:well similarly for ntu its NBS is better mainly based on the accountancy component as you mentioned.
but unless by business degree you mean accountancy degree. what you said has no real bearing on how NTU business is better too.
i have no actual idea other thant he name of NUSS is probably better but just pointing out
